Happy News!!!

Facebook Fan Page

I have some awesome news today...  I am happy to announce that I am now a part of the Little Scraps of Heaven DT!!!  It's a paper piecing company, but also recently started selling digital images as well. I am so excited to be a part of this DT, because I have recently found my new love for paper piecing and gluing.  It's all in the glue, I tell ya!!!  :)

Well, for my 1st project as LSHD DT, I'd like to share this layout with ya.  I made this about a year ago, but I've never posted it.  Praise God... because I get to post it NOW!!! :)

OMGoodness... I had so much piecing this payout together... here are the cuts that I've used:

The title SVG was created by me.  :)  Thanks again for stopping by and sharing in the excitement with me.  God Bless!! OX, Jen

Zoo Birthday Card for my 1 Year Old Nephew

Hey gang.... crazy week last week.  Lots of organizing, and now I'm back at creating.  I took some pics of my area before, and now I need to do an after video, but not sure if I have the time.  But I promise that I will try!!

This past weekend, we celebrated my nephew's 1st birthday at the Honolulu Zoo.  My brother got the "Hawaiian Luau" lunch package, so a lot of time spent eating and talking stories, we only had 15 minutes of a short tour of the Zoo.  Wasn't even a short tour, we only visited a reptile pond (contained with turtles with flat heads!), fed the turtles, and then we went back to the room to eat cake n' ice cream.  Although most of the time was spent eating and talking stories, that was the best part!

Well, here's what I created for the lil' fella...

Card size is 5-1/2x5-1/2, so my SIL could possibly create a cute 6x6 album and just add this as one of her pages.  A card and gift in one!!  :)

Details:
  • Cardstock: Stampin' Up! Dusty Durango
  • DSP: Stampin' Up!
  • Die Cut Layers Circle and Circle Scallop: Spellbinder
  • Images: Imaginesce (giraffe) and Inkadinkadoo! (lion)
  • Sentiment: "Oh Happy Day" and "Each One of Us": Stampin' Up!
  • Sentiment: "Happy Birthday": Hero Arts
  • Tree Die Cut: Cricut Cindy Loo Cartridge
  • Inks: Stampin' Up!

Thanks for peeking in!

Blessings ~

My Yard... New Love, New Hobby and A Scrapbook Layout Page for Class

Hi Friends!!! I have found a new love... my YARD!!!  I have been crazy busy in my yard, doing all kinds of fun things... I am having all kinds of ideas running through my head, and just taking it day by day to see the wonderful changes that are taking place!  Here are a couple of pics of my yard taken on 8-21-12...  the grass aren't all there, just yet.  But I am happy to say that they are slowly growing in daily!!!

Ok, so here is the porch swing that I've had that went south, because it wasn't being used.. but just being weathered.  I am thinking of reupholstering the cushions, painting the frames black!!  I also plan on removing the mold on our porch, and repainting it!  Also thinking of replacing the old and broken wood pieces with new ones....

8-21-12: Here's our empty pond in our front yard. I want to fill it with dirt, let the grass grow in, and have a larger area of my front yard to hang out with family and friends. Nope! I am NOT going to get this pond going again... it held 3000 gallons of water, and had a leak. Want a smaller pond that requires less maintenance. Maybe one with a couple of lilypads, and small fishes???

Heliconia plant on the side of my house....

My back yard and back porch....Thinking of dressing up with a Gazebo out here... BBQ pad in the right corner over there.... lights, lights, lights... for romantic evenings!!!

After I took the 1st pic of the Porch Swing, I started taking it apart...

Pic from my back porch looking down on my back yard (the right part).  This is where I'd like to put my gazebo!!!!

Can't wait!!!  The grass is growing, slowly, but surely.  With enough attention and love, it'll sprout beautifully and in color!!!!

Oh, and here is the Scrapbook Page that we'd created for my Stampin' Up! class this weekend.  I cut all pieces on my Cricut using a cut from My Scrap Chick.  Love the thought of having a page as part of our class kit.  The ladies enjoyed this page, and really had a great and easy time assembling it.  Especially my gf, Ali!!!  :)))

For the flowers, I had them spray with water first, crumple and open up, then spray with an ink spray that also had some shimmery powder mixed in there.  You can make your own!!  I took some of the shimmer powder that Stampin' Up! had (I think it's retired), and then I added to my ink spray.  I realized that if you are not into using ink spray so much, then don't have to purchase such a big bottle.  But for those that have a "collection" habit {{like me}}... well then, it's understandable if you do go with that bigger bottle.  Cause you'll never have enough!!  LOL!!  Just make sure that you make use of your spray... don't forget you have them!  :))

I also sprayed some ink on this die cut sentiment... you can see the splatter marks...

Another flower part close up...

These are the photo layers...  I provided another cut just a little smaller than these frames, so that they could have a pattern to cut out the photo that they would like to put there.

Well... it rained last night, and it looks like it might be raining all day - so I don't have to water my yard today.  But will go out there to see if new pics are justifiable.

May you have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by!  Aloha.... Jen

Scrapbook Baby Page 1

Aloha Everyone!! How was your long weekend?! Well, my Grand Niece, Kyrie will be making an entrance into this world in the next couple of months, so I wanted to get a scrapbook started for my Niece so that she could save her DD's 1st year in a nice album. I'm usually a Digi-Scrapper, but I've got so much paper to use, I thought I'd give it a try and start using these papers and putting them to good use. This is the 1st page I've come up with. Love the colors, and how it turned out. Most of the paper and cardstock that I used are from Stampin' Up! I am not sure if they are retired or not. It has been in my stack of papers for quite some time now.

The "Welcome Baby Girl" sentiment cut on my Cricut. It's a Martha Stewart cartridge.

I made the sun with shapes from the George cut. I have the cut file available, if you are interested. Scroll down below for the link to download the DS or GYPSY cut file. It encloses the sun the I cut for this page layout.

Have a Short but GREAT week....Enjoy!!!

A Mini Tin Scrapbook & Pics From The Wedding.....

Aloha Sistahs!!!

Happy Humpy Day!!! I gotta hurry and post this, as I've been working on making some goodie bags for Cy's graduation this coming Friday. I'm making 20 of them, but I first had to create the larger size backpack that I forever keep talking about. Well, finally, I was able to complete the design, and now I'm cutting them, and today I hope I will be able to fold them all and get them done by tonight. Wish me LUCK!!!!

Ok, so here is a tin mini scrapbook I've created. Saw that my kid sistah Jackie is into some scrapbooking lately - and wanted to send her this, along with her belated birthday goodies. The "J" was created with my the Cricut Calligraphy Collection cartridge. Then I added stickles to make it glitzy. The flowers I used are Prima Flowers, and I added Hero Arts bling to the middle of it. The inner part of the scrapbook isn't really decorated, because I knew Jackie would be happy to glam it up herself. =0) This is a tin that I purchased back when I was with TAC - but really, it's the same type of tin that is used for those mints that they sell..... I think it's called, Altoid's?

Anyways, yesterday - Cy had the sniffles. I think it is because of the vog, thankfully the vog is clearing up - but Cy hasn't fully recovered yet. I kept him home from school yesterday, since he was sneezy n' sniffling throughout the previous night. Today he was a little better. I sent him today, because they had May Day practice on the field, and I didn't want him to miss out on that. =0) After dropping him off to school, I went straight to the grocery store to go shopping. Early morning grocery shopping is the best time to go, because there are mostly oldies out there - and the scene is nice n' calm. Once 11 am hits, the store is filled with hustling n' bustling of people. ACK!!! So, I figure, I might as well go to the store while it's still early.

Thank you all that have stopped by yesterday and left me comments about my photos of my around the island trip with my sister, during Mother's Day weekend. It really was an enjoyable day around the island, and it was such a very pretty day. We have got to take more trips around the island. There were a lot of families at the beach, bbq'ing and potlucking... I should've took pics of that... but I was so caught up in the beauty of the island and the ocean surrounding it.

The day before Mother's Day (Saturday) we attended Tiff n' Mark's wedding. It was just gorgeous!!!! Tiff made a very pretty bride.... and here are some pics that were taken that evening...
