Here is a simply tweet card I made awhile ago...

Image is from Pink Petticoat, I colored with my copics. Added beads everywhere. I wasn't sure what I should put on the right side, and finally figured that 3 wishes would do. This card is going to the BDay RAK bin.... =0)

Update on being sick: I have been sleeping on the sofa in the living room... which I like it much better, when I'm sick. The kids actually have been great around me... CY4 has been helping with Cy alot, and just keeping him busy. My DH is doing a great job working during the day, and being the mommy during the night. The other night, I made a HUGE pot of Portuguese Bean Soup - so that's been dinner for the last couple of nights... which is good, because no one needs to cook. We all love Pocho soup, so we can live on it for days. I feel much better than I've felt the last couple of days, but I'm going to the doctor's today to get checked.

Happy Birthday to my baby boy Cy....

Hello All...

How has everyone been?!?! December is such a crazy, fun & special month for me... there's card creating, gift creating, shopping, parties, and I am sure it is the same for all of you. But there's one more thing that makes December so much more special for me... on this day, December 14th - 4 years ago, at 4:38 pm (the same time as this posting), I gave birth to my baby boy, Cy. I can't believe how quick time has flown by... here are some photos of him through the years....

We celebrated by taking him to Dave n' Busters. The weather was windy and rainy, but a lot clearer than yesterday. It has been flooding around Oahu the last couple of days. Some places hit worst than others. I just thank the Lord that we are safe, warm and unharmed. My internet have been a little screwy, and electricity has been lost here n' there. But we're hanging tough, and making it through. The days have just been busy and I still have some shopping left to do. Cy just got over being sick for a week, and miss school the entire week. I had to take him back n' forth to the doctors... he had an ear infection in both ears, sinus infection, sore throat and pink eye (conjunctivitis). After some anti-biotic, all is getting better in his system, however CY3 now has the pink eye. (I told him many times to wash his hands... see when he don't listen?!). My car was also sick last week... it was in the shop for 2 days, as the mechanics had no answer as to what was wrong with my car. The "Ck Eng" light was on, and it was because the cooling fan clutch was disengaged. I was pretty bummed without my car, but because it was raining so hard, I guess it was best that we were indoors anyways.

Here is the card I made for Cy. I used an image from Pink Petticoat. I really didn't do much to this card. I did however use a die cut card from Cricut's Wild Card cartridge.

Anyways, I hope you and your family is doing better than we are. I have been prepping for Little C's Christmas party this upcoming Sunday.... worked on favors, door prizes and awards for our games. Looking forward to the fun, and fellowship with the rest of the aloha stamping sisters.

Before I go - I would also like to extend a very Happy Birthday to my dear friend, Jan Scholl!!! She celebrated her birthday today as well!!

A Ribbon Tutorial: Pink Petticoat Thank You Card

Happy Saturday and Happy Belated Halloween Friends.....

Sorry - I totally spaced yesterday, and forgot to wish all of you a Happy Halloween... I took the boys to the mall for the very 1st time last night. It was BUSY and CRAZY!! Too much people.... I'm not one for crowds (if it doesn't involve me dancing - heh, heh!!).

Ok, I'll post the Halloween pics that we took later. Here's a card I created, and thought I'd share a lil' trick in ribbon hiding. As you can see, from my photo - the ribbon only goes up to the middle of the card, and then back around. So, I will show you how I do this, without revealing the ribbon on the other side. That sounds like a magic trick, huh? LOL!!!

Ok, first off... the front of the card is actually just a card front. I do my layout, and then cut a slit of the width of the ribbon, just about to where I want the ribbon to go through. I cut the slit right through the papers and cardstock all together.... just like this:


I used my paper piercer to make the slit - but it would've been cleaner and easier to do with an exacto. But I'm a "use whatever is around" kinda crafter, and that piercer was around at that time.

I'm going to take my ribbon, and push it through the slit.... it looks wide n' torn enough to fit my ribbon.... (real jaggity, I know... but heck, it's a hidden ribbon trick thingy, so trust me - nobody's going to see it!!!

This is the front of the cardfront with the ribbon threaded through the slit, and then tied in a knot.... yep, as you can see - the slit is still noticeable in the front...


And here the slit goes right through the back of the cardstock and paper layers....


Here's the trick... since what you created is only a cardfront, you are now going to adhere the cardfront to an actual card, as shown here (shown not adhered yet..LOL!!):

Here it is shown adhered (you can see a bit of the yellow cardfront stuck to the front of the card). And when you open the card, you can't see the ribbon that was once going through the cardfront.


Let's oooo.... and ahhhhh.... hee hee... ok, I am sure a lot of you know how to do this already. Just wanted to help out some of the newbies or those that really didn't know about this yet. The slit on the front of the card is then covered by the layer that I stamped my image on.

I used: Dew Drops, SU! DS, Pink Petticoat images, Nesties and my Copics to color.....

Good Morning Monday All...

Here's another Thank You Card, image again from Pink Petticoat. I colored with my Copics. I like the Black n' Purple colors that I used, but I ain't to pleased about the green n' yellow of the base. I just might need to change them.

Anyways, boo hoo - my sister Nasha went home yesterday. So it seems that life has gone back to the same ol' thing. LOL!!! But hey, it's Halloween Week Baby!!!! Ok, I have some Halloween cards that I want to work on - I know, so late already, but I'm still in the mood.... The sentiment "THANKS" on this card was made with my Cricut. Ohhhh... and speaking of my Cricut, I was playing with it this weekend, and guess what?!?!?! I was able to create me a Hello Kitty face on my Cricut's Design Studio!!! OH MY!!! SOOO CUTE!!!! Can't wait to share it with you!!! I have to work on LCWC #15's challenge first..... so - stay tuned!!!!

Oh Wait!!! Before I go... here's a photo of Today's Hawaii.. it's a bunch of Fushia Plumeria Flowers growing in my mom's yard, ain't it so purdy?!?! I took a pic of it this past weekend while we were there having a luncheon for my sister. Feel free to view them here, if you'd like to check them out.

Sheep Thank You Card

Happy Aloha Friday All....

I'm taking my sister to the beach today... hopefully the weather is going to be GOOD!!! We've been waiting patiently for this day to arrive, a day of nice breezy sun, and everyone in the family being WELL. Cy is still coughing a little actually, but I am hoping the salt water is going to help.... here is a pic of my sis and Cy taken on the day of the funeral. He looks pretty happy for being a semi-sick child, eh?


I have been behind on my Thank You cards, so you will be seeing a lot of Thank You cards in the next few days..... I am loving the fact that I have this Pieces of Me blog, because it forces me to create with the other stuffs that I have lingering around, and not just to focus on stuffs that I'm selling through Little C's. I swear, it's so hard to stick to one thing - it drives me nuts, but that's what drives me. Anyways, image is from Pink Petticoat. You just download and print her images (for a small fee of course), and then you can color, create and do whatever you want to do with it. It is also an Angel Company... so what the heck - sell what you make with them too... why not!?

Ok, gotta go, it's time to take the kids to school!! Have a great weekend!!!

Simple Quick Cards

I have been soooo behind in sending out Mahalos, and such, and I'm trying to catch up.... so, today - I made 7 simple cards, using scrap paper and using 1 image for all cards, from where else?! Pink Petticoat - Tickled Pink Series..., card stock and DP are from TAC and DCWV, and all sentiments are Bazzill Basic's Chiptoppers, Copics to color (sorry, I didn't do a good job coloring on these, also forgot to take a pic of what pens I've used, since I colored these images a while ago), cards are all standard size. I still have a few more cards to create, so hopefully I can dish more out today. Wish me luck, because Cy is taking a nap right now... shhhhh

What's everyone doing right now? CY4 is playing Halo on the XBox Live, CY3 is watching a movie on his computer, and Cy - well, you know where he's at. Fireworks tonight... where will you be watching?








Gosh, I've been using so much Pink Petticoat, you'd think I'm selling the stuff. Ok, I promise to use more of my other images in the next projects.

Graduation Card using Pink Petticoat Image

Hey There... it's 1 day before the big July 4th sha-bang!! Are you all ready for BBQing and partying and having a great time with family n' friends?! I am. Ok... I'll keep my jabbering to the end... here's the card I have to show you today. My mom is going to a graduation party this weekend, and I promised that I would make the card for her. Since we're going to go over there tonight, I thought it would be good that I better get this done, and out of the way. So here it is. I am using an image from Pink Petticoat. The great thing I like about these images is that you can alter them to whatever size that you want it to be. The size of my card here is 5-1/4 x 5-1/4, so I really wanted to make my image kinda big so that it covers pretty much majority of my card. The maroon card stock is from TAC, and because it's core is white, I was able to sand my card stock, allowing the white core to show. I used the "Congrats" cuttlebug embossing folder, which I ran through my Big Shot. Now if you don't know how to run it through your big shot - here is what I used. I used Multipurpose Platform Pad, I used it with Tab 1, then 1 acrylic pad, the embossing folder and card stock and another acrylic pad sandwiched together. If you only have the regular platform (not the MP one), then simply use it that way. I then colored my image with Copics. I know I use my Copics a lot, but don't mean I don't like the other mediums. I think it's just easier to grab since it's right there. Here is a photo of the marker colors that I've used. As you can see - I usually have 1 dark color, and 1 lighter color of the same type. The darker one would be for shading... and you can figure out the rest. Oh yea, and I decided to decorate the envelope that goes with this card. Just a lil' decoration... used my SU! stamp of a diploma (after looking at it, it kinda looks like a butterfly with rectangle wings).

Well - I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I will have to have a lot of self control with staying focus on my strive for living a healthier lifestyle. Today's Hawaii photo is of this Plumeria flower which I picked off the ground while taking my daily walk this morning - which you can read all about it here. Not really a pretty flower that I got, but it's really a pretty flower without all that grunge. LOL!!!

Finally A Card....

Hello all..... I don't feel refreshed, but it sure felt nice to take a break. Here is a recap of my day today.... I dropped CY4 off to school, then off to the mall. I went shopping for a dress. We are going to a wedding this weekend, and CY3 would like for me to look GORGEOUS. I don't like clothes shopping. I don't like trying on clothes, and finding out that they don't fit me. I finally convinced myself to accept that I am no longer a size 7, but now a size 14... I knew for a while now, but I kept grabbin' for a size 10 or 12.... I didn't want to go any larger. Size 14.... dang, that hurt!! But after I accepted this depressing fact, I was able to find cool outfits that actually fit. HAH! When I picked smaller outfits, they looked better on the hanger, than on me!!! But now.... a larger dress may look like a hanging tent on a hanger - but once it got on me, I nicely filled it out. I got a couple of shorts and capris that are cute.

On the way to pick up CY4 from school, I saw a man driving in his car, and using a nose hair trimmer.....ack!!! I guess it's no different than using a cell phone while driving - but DANG.... where are all those nose hairs flying to? What if he had a baked potato on his passenger seat? If his nose hairs fell on them (GROSS), he might just mistaken it for black pepper on cheese. LOL!!!
I started a weight loss diet yesterday. I gave up my Pepsi drinking.....went COLD TURKEY...it's been 2 days now since I've had a Pepsi. I had a killer headache last night, probably because of caffeine withdrawal. I've been drinking only water, and once in a while a sip of green tea. I want to look good at the wedding. I know it's in just a couple of days - so I'm hoping to at least loose SOME retaining water. LOL..... I've cut down on eating too much junk food too!! But I cannot lie... I ate a Hershey's Kiss w/Macadamia Nuts in them (common, who can't resist that?!?!?). I ate only 1 though.... well... I hope I can continue my journey to loose some pounds.....

I signed up for AOL Chat today. I actually had it once, about 10 years ago. Well, I deleted all that, and have found other chat engines to try out. But I'm on it again. OK on to my card.... it's another Pink Petticoat image. This cute froggy image is from the "Hoppy Wishes" collection. Gina Wrona gave me the idea of using some googley eyes, because we had a lil' conversation going about how them googley eyes just make everything SO much MORE cuter!! DS paper is Autumn Leaves, "Friend" sticker is actually Bazzill Basics' Chiptopper (thick sticker type thingys). Ribbon is from SU!, Olive cardstock is from SU!, and Light Green cardstock is from TAC. I used my corner rounder punch to make the scallop edge on the DS paper. The imaged layer is on pop-up tape. That's pretty much it for this card. It was basically a simple card. So Yay... I hope I can start to dish out some more cards. I better get working on that wedding card for this weekend, and my mom has a grad party to go to next week, which she's asked me to make the card - so WOOOO Hooooo....

Gosh, it seems like AGES that I've done one of these... actually, I just did a give away for my Blogoversary thingy. Well - my visit count is now pass 70K and well, it's time for more FUN GIVEAWAYS!!!! I have a whole bunch of stuffs that my girlfriend Kristy gave me to giveaway, so I'm going to dig into that bin and gather up a bunch of goodies to make into a lil' grab bag. I have something FUN and probably INSANE for you to do - that'll be totally off my ROCKERS, but I do hope you will play.....

I got this from the "Best Fishes" collection. These are sooo addicting, especially to perk these images up with some glitter... 2nd photo is of a close up - because I have to show you the glitz on this image, since I love adding them, ya know?!?! DCWV BG paper... always goes with anything glitzy.

Ok - now for Today's Hawaii... yea, I have the urge to share with you what each day looks like here in Hawaii. Right now, truthfully, it looks like crap out there. The Vog is back, and it is making me sick again... sore throat, running nose. Can you imagine all that guck going into your system - I'm just thankful (yes I am) that we don't have to go through it EVERYDAY, and I'm also thankful that my house is AC'd, because if it wasn't - then I'd be in deep ka-ka. The boys are being affected too... staying indoors are our best defense... but we gotta get out there somehow - like today, I gotta go and do the banquet... YAY - which I have to hurry up and stop talking, so that I can get going!!!! Yea, so that's the Aloha Stadium in the photo shown... and guess what is missing?!?!?! MOUNTAINS!!! Yep - no mountains... that's a pretty thick wall crap of vog that's blocking our beautiful mounts. I tell ya... I hope mother nature wakes up quick, and blow the vog away. If you look closely - you could make the outline of the mountains out.... NOT!!!!

A Card For Allison's SS#18

Aloha...

It's Tuesday, the weather is a whole lot better here. Happy that the Vog is gone, but it'll be back on Thursday - so I ain't got my hopes up. Today I've got tons to do... house stuffs. I'm still finishing up the stars I'm making for CY4's Banquet and Graduation. Banquet is THIS FRIDAY - so I have to HURRY and work on them stars. I've already cut the stars out, and I've already cut all the names out - all I have to do is paste them on. Try doing that with all the house madness going on, and wanting to create other things too.... LOL!! Ok, so here are 2 pictures of today's Hawaii. It's pretty and sunny today. 1st photo is of the yard on the side of my house. 2nd photo is of the sweet n' sassy red ti leaf tree, that is located right next to the stairs shown in photo #1. (Click on photo to see larger view).

Now for my card. It's another image from Pink Petticoat. I purchased a whole bunch of images and I just have GOT to use them. They are no different to the stamps that I've purchased (except in cost!!), but they all go into my "basket of stuffs I bought and didn't use yet", so I thought it would be alright to make another card using an image from that batch. This card is create with Allison's SS#18 in mind. Her theme this week is "Something Manly". Well.... mines is a "cute manly"... I like making cute things... I do have some other stamps that would make GR8 manly cards, so I hope I can get them ink'd up this week (during my in between breaks from working on the stars). The image on my card was colored with my Copics. DS paper is DCWV - can you tell I'm really trying to use my stash?!?!! Yes I am.... Sentiment is from SU!, I used the faux ticket punch technique to make the sentiment layers have ticket edges. Cardstock is also from SU!. OH yea, I had to add a lil' glitter... it's just a little touch that just has to be there. I am sure to make Ms. Dawn the glitter queen proud of me!!!!
