Hello Kitty Birthday Card

Happy Aloha Friday!!!  Thank You, Lord... I had a chance to create with my eClips again.  I wanted to create a Hello Kitty card using the Hello Kitty Cricut Cartridge, but when I went to cut, the edges did not cut as clean as I wanted to.  Must be because it was too small?  Anyways, did a search online, for Hello Kitty SVG, and found this FREEBIE here from Sherry K Designs!!!  Awesome, right??  The set also comes with printable projects with Hello Kitty images that you could use for parties and events.

So here is how my card turned out.

Details:
  • Hello Kitty SVG Cut - Sherry K Designs
  • Happy Birthday Sentiment - Penny Black
  • Clouds SVG - SVGcuts.com
  • Clouds Embossing - Stampin' Up! (retired)
  • Cardstock - Stampin' Up! Strawberry Slush #131295
  • Thick Baker's Twine - All 5 of Stampin' Up!'s in-colors 2013-2014: 135639, 135638, 135636, 135635 & 135637
  • Glittered DSP - Die Cuts with a View
  • Strawberry DSP - Not Sure
  • eClips Machine
  • eCal Program

This card went to a little cousin of mines... she turned 3 years old, but we missed her birthday.  I hope she will be surprised and happy when she opens the envelope.  :)

I am submitting my project to the following challenges:

Thank you for stopping by!!! Aloha!!!

My Niece's Sweet 16th Birthday with Hello Kitty Favors

Hi There! How was your weekend? I hope you had a great time, in doing whatever it was. This weekend, we've celebrated my niece's Sweet 16th birthday at Tasty Chop Suey in Kalihi. A small Chinese restaurant that has been around for the longest time that I can remember since being a kid. I grew up in Kalihi, and have seen that place several times. But it wasn't til' I married my hubby, that his mom has taken us there on several occasions. This was one of them. Well, I can't believe my niece is already 16. Gee whiz, time sure flies, doesn't it?? She n' my CY4 are the oldest of 6 grandchildren to my MIL. They were both the 1st two kids born from their generation. Now they are teens. As I've said, time surely flies and quickly too!!! Sigh....

My SIL asked me if I could make some Hello Kitty favors for the party, and I went with 2 different designs, 10 of each of them.

I've written the cartridge names on the photo so you can see what cartridges I used to create these with. I create the bag cut in this photo with Design Studio, and cut it on my Cricut. The bag is similar to the cut that Stampin' Up! sells. I even added "bracket" edges to this cut, so that I was VERY similar to the SU! cut. I think I came pretty close to it. ;o) If you do use the .cut file, there is a piece of the bracket that you will need to manually remove yourself, before putting the bag together. You can click on the link at the bottom of this page to download the .cut file if you have the Design Studio program, and the cartridges that I've used to create this cut.

This here is a Hello Kitty basket, which I know you HK lovers out there will LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! I had fun creating this HK basket on the Design Studio, and really like how it turned out. I myself, not being a huge HK fan, enjoyed creating and putting this one together.

A close up pic of the 1st HK Favor bag, as you can see, I've added the bracket edges. The edges come from the cart Alphalicious, so you NEED this cartridge together with the other cartridge, and the Design Studio, and most importantly the Cricut machine in order to cut this cut. The sentiment was cut from "Once Upon a Princess".
The Hello Kitty basket. These would be great for Easter treats as well. ;o)

Now, since on the other favor bag, I had "Sweet 16" pasted on, I thought I'd need to do the save for this HK basket, so I decide to use the word "Sweet" from "Create a Critter", cut out and then paste to the handle of the basket. "16" is from Alphalicious.

Here is a photo of the favors on one of the tables at the restaurant. They were kind enough to let us use 1 table for all the favors. Made such a cute display for all to see.
Oh wait... I can't skip on sharing with you her Hello Kitty cake!!! Yummy!! Very fresh and light tasting (not too sweet for me, so I was delighted). They got this cake from Delight Bakery a.k.a Saint Germaine's.

We had such a wonderful time with family. The food was delish, but the company was tastier!! Here is a pic of all of us after dinner... we were STUFFED!!! That's my CY4 on the right of the photo... look how BIG he's gotten, ladies!! Oh My!! So fast!!!

Question for today:

When you have an itch, do you apply some kinda cream or ointment? If so, what?

~ I use Lanecane, when I was younger, we used vick's. But I've found that Lanecane works quicker!! ~

Thank U for your time! God bless!!

My NEW Ride... and sharing some Hello Kitty Projects

Hi Gang!! I hope your week has been going well. It has been blustery here on the island of Oahu, I love that it is windy and cool, but it can get kinda scary when the wind is blowing against my house, because the creaking of the house kinda freaks me out thinking that it might come down. The winds have been pretty strong too, between 50-60 MPH! My hair has been up in a bun most of the week, to avoid having to do the "crazy hair dance". Well, before I go on, I have added "Quick Comments" to the bottom of each post, so that it is easier for you to select a comment, instead of leaving one. If you are in a rush, and have no time to post a comment, these will come in handy for you. If you are reading from your email, you just need to click on the title of the post and you will be able to click on the quick comment of your choice.

Well, first let me share with you a few things before getting into the crafty stuffs... I got a NEW RIDE!!! Weeee Hooooo!!! Yes, I am thrilled, can you tell? The Mighty Good Lord has blessed us with a new Chevrolet Traverse. 1st off, I need to mention that it has been a while now that we have been looking into purchasing a new vehicle. My hubby got a new truck about 8 months ago, and I took over his Ford Expedition. Because I wasn't planning on driving very far daily, I figured the big "X" would be ok to drive. Which it was. I thoroughly enjoyed driving it, but it was a huge gas guzzler!! Well, as time went by, I prayed about the type of car that I wanted.. I only had a FEW desires.... Must have Reverse Sensors, Diamond Pearl White, Spacious and More Mileage for the gas. Well, last weekend, a friend of hubby told him about the First Hawaiian International car show that was happening. We checked it out.... we saw the Pathfinder, which I liked, but it was too boxy for me. I loved that it had 3 rows of seating, and that it was comfy inside. However, I didn't like the boxy look... it was too sporty for me. But it was still on my list of cars. We then saw the Highlander... hmmm... smaller than the Pathfinder, 3 rows seating, but not too spacious. I knocked the Pathfinder off, and put the Highlander on the list of likes. I then saw the Murano... oh so spacious, beautiful, but the downfall was 2 row seating. After seeing the 2 vehicles of 3 row seating, I was kinda leaning towards something with 3 rows because I liked the idea of having that extra room for my parents, if ever needed. The Highlander and the Murano were now the 2 top cars that I was planning on getting. We were ready to leave the show and check out the dealers. While on our way out, hubby sees to the right of him, the Chevrolet Traverse. "Hey, we didn't check this one out.... let's go see". OH MY... we both got into the front seat... it was SPACIOUS - like the Murano, and we both fit comfortably (in the Highlander, he was kinda squished in the passenger seat. I looked back, and it had 3 rows of seat... like the Highlander!! It was like I was getting 2-in-1!!!

The Lord completely directed our path into seeing this beautiful car, and knew that it was what I had my heart set on. I knew that I wanted that vehicle. But now it was time to think about whether or not we'd be able to afford it. Off to lunch we went. We ate at Lobster King. They had a bunch of lobster dishes that looked so onolicious!!! We decided on having the Lobster with Black Beans - good choice, hubby!!! I was enjoying this dish so much, I forgot that we were in the "buying a car" mode. Oh so yummy... juicy lobster meat, and a tasty sauce. We also had the Oyster Sauce Chicken and Cake Noodle, Chinese Beef Steak and my ALL TIME FAVORITE: Honey Walnut Shrimp. I will NOT go to a Chinese Restaurant without having this dish! Hee hee... So, if you are ever in town, near J's Knicknacks, Cute Stuff or even Photo Craft... and have some yummy urges for yummy Chinese food, you should go and check out Lobster King.

We then headed down to Cutter. They had 5 Traverses' on the lot. 1 black one, which was sold, a red one, 2 charcoal ones, and 1 Diamond Pearl White.... Ahhhhhh!!!! Just as I wanted!!! Oh gosh.... Praise The Lord, He was truly sending me to the place where He knew I would find the car that I wanted. This one was the top of the line vehicle, came with 2 dvd players in the headrest, so that the kids can watch, not 1 but 2 movies, each of their own choice. Which means they didn't have to "share" a movie. It also came with wireless headphones (yay!!!), so while they are watching their movies, I can listen to my KLHT radio station and get into the WORD without having to tell them to "turn it down". It also came with reverse sensors, but on top of that, a reverse camera feature that shows up on my rear view mirror to help me back up and see where I'm going. Which is AWESOME, because I'm so paranoid about someone or something always being behind me where I might not be able to see them or it. Hahahaa.... The back of the car opens automatically with a touch of a button... no more lifting for me. The car seating has 2 "reserve" seating positions so that I can reserve my seating position (and the mirrors), and when and if hubby drives, he can press button #2 to go to his seating position. The car is linked to my phone's bluetooth, so that when I make a call, the radio and air con (which is super strong and cold) turns down, and the person I am talking to comes through the stereo. The seating is leather, and are captain seating (bucket). Oh I just love it, and I give all Glory and Praises to HIM for this blessing that HE has given us. Thank U Lord, Jesus!!!!

Ok, on to my craft projects. Today, I have 2 projects to share.... this first one is a Happy Birthday card, which I made on the Design Studio using "Hello Kitty Greetings". I've welded the sentiment to the bottom of the card, and it turned out so cute!!! I am sharing this file with you, so if you would like to download it, you can get it here. -----> Hello Kitty Birthday Card

The card above was created for my girlfriend's daughter, Sophia. So with her gift bag, I made a super large gift tag that I welded her name onto the Hello Kitty image. This was created using "Hello Kitty Font". Here is how it turned out, she loves the color purple....

Ok my friends... it's time to start your weekend!! I pray that you all have a marvelous well spent weekend with family n' friends. Thank you so much for spending a little of your time with me today, and reading about my new toy!!! But most of all, thank you for your friendship!!

Much Hugs n' Blessings...
Jen

Hello Kitty Shower Kits

Yesterday my car broke down. HMPF! Today I had the tow truck tow my car to the repair shop. So that is why I am late in posting my creation this morning. =0) Here are some Hello Kitty Shower Kits that I created and sold at the craft fairs I did towards the ending of 2009. The holder was a single cocoa holder. The Hello Kitty die cuts were cut with my Cricut X, using the Hello Kitty Greeting and Fonts cartridges.

Thanks for peeking!!

Hugs,

FREE Hello Kitty Image - HK with Burdy

***This post was supposed to be posted yesterday.... Friday, 10/2/09:

It's Aloha Friday! Today, on LC's Stamp n' Scrap Hawaii, we are featuring Kyoko Patoc as our featured Aloha Blogger of the week. Be sure to stop on by, and check out Kyoko's interview with us!!

Today, I would like to share this adorable Hello Kitty image, which I call "Hello Kitty w/Burdy". I have her colored in with my copics, and I cut a Coffee Bag using my Cricut machine - I haven't shared the file for that yet, and I will as soon as I can get my postings on my Cricut blog to get going. I used Scallop Circle nestie to cut the scallop frame around the circle, the circle is backed by acetate so that it can be a window to look into the goody bag.

That's pretty much it with this project. If you would like a free copy of the HK digital image, send an email to littlecs7@gmail.com requesting "HK Burdy" in the subject line.

Now for my daily blurbs....

  • It is 1:45 am and I am up writing this post (thanks to my new pups that JUST needs to play around in the middle of the night... no really, thanks!!!)
  • Today's Weather: Well, I can't really tell right now, it's still dark outside
  • What we had for dinner yesterday: We went to Paesano's in Pearl City to grind at our Uncle Billy's restaurant, ok - he's not our BLOOD Uncle, but we go there so much, my family call him "Uncle" and we feel like we're treated like family!!
  • What I did yesterday: Took Cy to school, Shopped at Sam's Club, created today's project, picked up Cy, purchased a new camera from WalMart (wow, when I write it down, it really seems like I didn't do nothing, but driving around sure takes up a LOT of time!!! Traffic was terrible on the way home on Thursday, I ended up taking all the back roads).
  • Tonight, I will be enjoying some much needed crafty time with some of my girlfriends!
I hope and pray that YOU are having a beautiful day!!!

Aloha,

I got a new fridge yesterday, so I was so busy moving the foods back n' forth, in n' out (we moved the old fridge to the garage). It's nice having these 2 fridges, because I can store more.... Do you have 2 fridges? Must be something about Hawaii... I've always had 2 fridges, or another huge freeze outside of our house growing up. Even til' this day, my mom has 2 - but her's are both in her house.

A RAK From Cheryl - Life is Sweet...

Hey Sistahs,

Lookie what I got from Cheryl of Life is Sweet. I actually won this, it was the prize for Cheryl's blog candy a while back. I went to J's Knicknacks to shop, and she had left it there for me to pick up. Cliff, Cheryl's hubby, threw in the cute lil' flower stamp... Adorable, ain't it?!?!

Thanks Cheryl, it's the cutest!!!

Recycled Project w/Hello Kitty Fairy

Hello All... this bag is a recycled project. My friend Jodie actually gave it me sometime back in October - I think for Halloween, or maybe it was a "just because" goody bag. Sorry, I can't remember.... I could be wrong. Anyways, thought I'd recycle it, and add a cute lil' Hello Kitty Fairy to the front of it. It's ok to recycle right?!?! Well, this wasn't the ONLY bag she gave me. She actually gave me a bunch, and I'm only using 1 of them. So don't try n' make me feel bad. LOL....

I'm going to send this out to one of my readers who celebrated her birthday. Heee heee... I hope you like it, and what's in it as well.... sorry so late!!! =0) Oh, what's inside is NOT recycled. Hee heee... it's new from ME!!!

The Cricut cartridge I've used for this Hello Kitty cut is from the Hello Kitty Font. YES... It's called Hello Kitty FONT, this is a cartridge with HK letterings, but there are about 10 Hello Kitty die cuts on there. Some of them look like the Sizzix Die Cuts.

Just for fun, let's compare prices here. Each Sizzix die of a Hello Kitty runs about $20-$25, infact, I heard that at Ben Franklin's (Hawaii's "Michaels") they were even selling these dies for about $35.... Ok, so let's take BF's prices, that means for all the 10 die cuts I have on Cricut, I would've paid well over $350 total!!! On top of that.... the Sizzix dies don't cut different sizes.... where as the Cricut will cut from 1" - 11" and every 1/4", 1/2", 3/4" in between. Wow... that would mean the Cricut could cut 4 sizes for every inch, which means about 44 sizes each design. For 10 of these designs, I am able to cut 440 sizes. If I had a Sizzix die cut for each size, that would cost me about $15,400..... (not that I'd want one for each size - LOL!!!) My machine cost me $340 (came with 2 cartridges), and then a Hello Kitty cartridge for $75! I got a great deal, huh?! Ok, now that I've convinced myself that I've made a great investment, I can appreciate it a lot more. =0) {{Gracie... now you know why I can't let you get rid of your's?!!?!}}

Ok, back to my project... I used stickles to add glitz to my HK. It was so much fun creating her. I'm going to be playing with my Crikadee a lot more again.... so if you've read my previous post - my Cricut Cuts By Jen blog is up running again. I have all the cut files posted on the side bar of that blog, for easy access in downloading.

Hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday today. Thanks for stopping by!!

Aloha,
Jen
