Thanksgiving Is Over

Aloha Crafty Friends!!!

Now that Thanksgiving is over... it's time for the Christmas RUSH! LOL... honestly, I finished most of my Christmas shopping online for my family n' friends, done the day after Thanksgiving. Now, just gotta do the finishing touches of some of our family on the mainland, my boys n' my parents. So glad that I got majority of it done. However, that doesn't mean that I'm free to do anything... actually, December is the craziness and busiest for me as a wife to my hubs. Because he is invited to Christmas Company's Parties, and we are blessed to go and show our appreciation for their business. It's fun. We always see the same peeps every year, and look forward to the next year of seeing them again. :) God is GOOD!!!!  So, unfortunately, I won't be hosting any Crafty Sessions until' January, 2018.

^This is a pic of our turkey that my hubby made for Thanksgiving. He always blesses us by cooking up a feast for Thanksgiving. I have never made a turkey in my life. Which I'm sad to say, because I so want to make one. But he insists on making it every Thanksgiving, so just gonna be happy n' enjoy the blessing that the Lord has given me... my hubby!!!!  We usually host a big gathering, but we decided to take a break and just have a quiet Thanksgiving together, as family. It was really nice to have a lot of left overs this year. LOL!!!

So today, I am sharing with you a few cards that I had made, starting with these cards that I made to complete the Birthday Card order I had. I am no longer taking card/project orders for the rest of the year, because I'm working on Christmas cards for myself. LOL!

Here are the 2 cards that completed my Birthday Card order:

Here's what I used:

  • Pineapple Image: LSHD Digitals
  • Hula Girl: Create In Me Stamp (Colored w/Copics)
  • Pennant Die Cut: Lawn Fawn (Used on FSJ Platinum Machine)
  • Twine: Amazon
  • Cardstock, DSP, Sentiment: Stampin' Up!
I also decided that I was gonna make and send out handmade cards this year. Thanks Ali for the encouragement n' push to create handmade instead of photo cards. I gotta make at least 50. Have already made 16? But here are a few I worked on...

I'm working on 4 at a time. Praying that with this goal, I'll be done way before Christmas.

Here's what I used to create the cards above:

  • Moose, Stars & Stripes: LSHD Digitals (Moose is a Print2Cut on my eClips2 machine).
  • Twine: FSJ
  • Cardstocks: Stampin' Up!
  • Sentiment: My Stash (unknown)
I'll be sharing more of my Christmas projects so stay tuned!!  Thanks for visiting.

With Love In Christ,
Jen

Happy Girl's Day!!!

Happy Girl's Day in Hawaii-nei!!  As I've mentioned yesterday, Girl's Day is actually a Japanese culture celebration.  We celebrate here in Hawaii because there is a huge community of the Japanese people here.  We are all grafted into this little state, filled with all kinds of different nationalities, and we are all just very blessed to be able to have a diverse mixture, allowing us to learn about each, as well as eat a diverse mix of food.  :)

Anyways, here is a Girls Day project I worked on... This project is a pillow box with a handle, like a purse almost.  I got this SVG cut from Flurettes Bloom.  The image is a stamp from Create in Me.  I colored her with my Copics and handcut her.  I will probably create an SVG cut to go around that image, so it is easily cut out for me.

I filled the pillow box with one of my favorite Japanese candies.  At first, we couldn't get this candy anywhere but Shirokiya's.  Now, I think you can get it at any Long's Drugs store (now owned by CVS). This candy has a milky filling... so YUMMERZ!
Well, thanks for popping in.  I hope you have a marvelous Girls Day wherever you are!!!  You are blessed and made in the image of GOD.  Rejoice and be glad in it!!!! OX, Jen

Hau'oli La Hanau is Happy Birthday in Hawaiian

Hey there.... couple of weeks ago, I reconnected with my dear Christian sister, friend, and artist, Julie Fujii through Facebook.  I was so stoked to reconnect with her, because it has been at least 3 or 4 years since we last communicated. God is good.  After a brief break of selling her stamps, she is back at it again, and now selling acrylic stamps, and if you used to use her rubber stamps, you will LOVE her acrylic ones.  I love that they are acrylic, because I can see right through them and know exactly where I am stamping them.  Anyways, after reconnecting with Julie, she sent me some of her stamps to "try out". The name of her company is "Create in Me", of which she not only sells these images as acrylic stamps, but also sells a bunch of cute merchandise.  I was so blessed to receive these, wanted to work on one of them right away, as I knew that I wanted to make a birthday card for a "keiki" or child.  So I used the little "Hawaiian Girl" stamp.  I colored her with my Copic Sketch Markers, and that was pretty much it.  I then used the Triple Layer Birthday Cake from Miss Kate Cuttables, and cut n' pieced them together.  The sentiment which reads "Hau'oli La Hanau" is Hawaiian for "Happy Birthday", is a stamp from Island Paperie, which I got while visiting Maui last year.  :) The embossed diagonal stripes is a Stampin' Up! embossing folder. This card is sized at 5-1/2" x 5-1/2".  I also used some sticklez to add pizazz to the cake.

I had a lot of fun creating with this stamp.  The image is very clear n' her lines are precise and thin!!  I love it!!  Sometimes, the outline of a stamped image is thick, but Julie's image is so clear n' crisp!!  Thank U, Julie for allowing me to test these out.  I thank God for the friendship that we have together, and bringing us back together again.  Looking forward in creating with the other stamps!!  I'll post with them here shortly.

As usual, I am submitting my card to the following fun challenges:

Well, thank you for spending a part of your day here with me.  It's already, Wednesday! So have a blessed HUMP day and rest all of your worries upon the Lord.  He is with you!!  Call out to HIM in all your troubles and in all your praise!!!  KNOW that HE loves you and HE provides for all of your NEEDS.

Blessings in Christ,
Jen
