Little C's Digi - Kitty Cupcake Swing Fold Card

When I found out that I could make a Swing Fold card buy using the die cuts I already have on hand, I was totally stoked!!!  So happy that I am able to utilize the tools I already have on hand, and not have to go out and purchase new ones.  I am sure that the new ones makes it much easier and faster to create, but it gives me a sense of "happy accomplishments" when I know I've created a project that is created with "newer" tools and I didn't even have to purchase them.

This card was created for Little C's Digis!!  Using the "Kitty Cupcake Treat" image and "Sweet Thoughts of You" sentiment.  Love how cute n' cheery it looks!!!

If you like these cute n' whimsical images, be sure to stop by the Little C's Digi store, and check out all the images there is to offer.  MORE images are uploaded every 2 weeks.  So stop on by!!!

I am submitting my card to the following fun challenges:

Mahalo for stopping by, spending a little bit of your time with me, and if you've commented, I really appreciate that you took the time to do that!!  Come and join my Facebook Group, "Creating with Jen" for details of this card, and how I created it. Also weekly prize giveaways!!!!

Aloha, Jen

This Day Has Come...

The day has finally arrived... I wasn't looking forward to it, nor was I dreading it... I just knew that I had to face it, when the day comes.  Today was the day... My eldest of sons, left for college today.  Leaving this island, and heading to the mainland. I am excited for what the Lord has planned for him, but yet, I am sad that he is no longer in the house.  I know that I gotta let him go, and let him open his wings. Just didn't think it was gonna come so soon. We got up early this morning, and dropped off my hubby n' son to the airport. It sucks how airports are now a days, where we can't go pass the security gate if we don't have a boarding pass.  It used to be that way, and we used to be able to stay with them til' they boarded the plane.  But everything has changed since 9/11.  That sucks.  But, we make the best of it. We hugged several times.... and hugged again... tears of sadness and tears of joy... I'm truly blessed to have a son that is excited about going to college.  I pray that the Lord will use him mightly, and that HE will continue to guide my son's path.  Here is a picture of the 3 of us at the airport.... I was crying and so was his little brother.  The hardest part was seeing my baby boy cry while hugging his big brother... that just broke me into tears.  Such a sweet sweet moment....

On another sad note, I didn't make the Tiddly Inks Design Team.  Boooo Hooooo!!!  LOL... nah, actually, it's a blessing in disguise.  I think it's best that I not get committed to one company other than the ones I am on now.  Working with the Doodle Pantry and Little C's Digis should be more than enough on my plate.  Plus, this allows me to still play with other images from other companies!!!  So, rejoice in the Lord always!!  Thank You, Lord, for answering the prayer that I needed, because you already know what is good for me.  :)

Now to share my little crafty creation.....  I've created this card using the Little C's Digi August Release image called "Bunnie Cone Treat".  It's too cute!!!  Looks so yummy n' cute at the same time!!  Loved working with these images. If you are interested in seeing more images, and what was in the release, please check out the Little C's Digi blog and it'll direct you to the shop!!

Here are the details of this card:

  • Image: Little C's Digis - Bunnie Cone Treat
  • Sentiment: Little C's Digis - Sweet Kindness
  • Colored with Copic Sketch Markers
  • DSP from my stash of papers
  • Pink n' White Twine: Doodle Bug
  • Edge Punch, Die Cut Banner and Punch used on sentiment: Stampin' Up!
I am submitting this card to the following fun challenges out there:
Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!!  I hope you have some time to check out the new Little C's Digis store, and see if there is something you might find fun to play with there.  God Bless!!!

Hugs,
Jen

Faith Hope Love Scripture Challenge #FHL12 - "The Lord" and "Something Sweet"

Happy Monday Y'all!!  Hope your week has been going well.  My son is heading off to college soon, so our days have been quiet busy and at the same time, spending a lot of quality time together. We were so blessed to be able to hear him teach a segment of yesterday's sermon.  My hubby and I were so proud of him. What a way to start his journey.  Praying that the Lord will continue to use him mightly!! Excited of what is to come for his future. Never been a more happier and proud mama!!! Thank You, Jesus!!!!

Well, today is Challenge Monday!! We are on our 12th FHL Scripture Challenge!!  Wowie!!  I hope you are in for a fun time this week.  Got some excited things going on.  I'm still trying to think about how to write this all down in a blog post.  :)  Not only is it Challenge Monday today, but it is also the Grand Re-Opening of my Little C's Digi Online Store!!!  I'm excited about that. But let's focus on the new challenge for today's post.

1st off... our winner of last week's challenge is this card by Gail:

Front of Card
Card Opened

Good Job on your challenge card, Gail!!  You did a good job in incorporating both the "Circle Shape" and "Love" requirements of last week's challenge.  Please contact me and send me your email address for your prize from Sweet and Sassy.  Also, you can grab a "Winner's" badge from the right sidebar of my blog and post to your blog (highlight, right click, copy n' paste).

It was so neat to see what everyone came up with.  I was kinda worried that not much would join in on the challenge because of the "Theme" and "Twist".  But I realize that it is actually better, because the challenge will be exciting to those that want to motivate themselves in creating for a challenge that is actually challenging you to create.  The other great thing is that the stakes are higher for those who submit their work to this challenge, because not too many people are playing along anyways, so your chances of winning are higher.  Right???  So, if you're playing along, continue to play along... eventually, you will probably win a prize!!  :)

So, let's see..... what is our "Theme" and "Twist" for this week's FHL Scripture Challenge?? Here it is:

Theme: Use a scripture with the words "The Lord" in it.
Twist: "Something Sweet" - Use an image of Something Yummy or Sweet

Our Sponsor for this challenge is:

You will receive 2 Digital Images of your choice, and 1 Digital Sentiment of your choice!!!

Here is my sample project...

I used the "Doggie Cupcake Treat" image, along with the "Happy Birthday Sweet Friend" digital sentiment from Little C's Digis.  I also added some wiggly eyes to make it look silly.  The card was cut on my eClips machine, I believe it is a Lori Whitlock design.  It has a zig-zag fold, and was pretty easy to put together.  This card size is at 5" x 7".  If I was to make it again, I would make it a little bit smaller than this one.  :)  The DSP, I am not sure where it is from.  I got it from my stash though.  :)

Scripture on my card is "The Lord bless You and keep you; The Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you" ~Numbers 6:24-25

There you have it!!  That is the challenge for the next 2 weeks.  I hope you will have some time to play along.  Also, don't forget to check out Little C's Digi Blog... Posted all the digis that have been re-released (images) today!!!

Here are some links to FREEBIE scriptures pertaining to this challenge's theme:

I am submitting this project to the following fun challenges:

I leave you with this pic of my son teaching at church yesterday... a beautiful image of what is to come... and below that, a couple of pics of the Youth Group laying hands and praying over him, for his journey on to college. Thank You, Jesus!!!!

Photo: So proud of this young man!! Here is a pic of him teaching a segment of today's sermon. Praising The Lord for a powerful message brought forth by the Youth!! To God be the Glory!!! This is the last Sunday for Chazz at church before he heads off to college on Thursday!!! Great start to his journey! Thank U, Lord!!!!

So very blessed....

Now, it's your turn to create.  You can link your project to the Linky Tools link below.  If you need to read the rules, please be sure to check it out by clicking here.

The Aloha Friday Post: Using Cricut Cartridges and a Freebie too!!!

It's Aloha Friday... no work til' Monday!! Here are the projects we have to share with you today.

The cage was cut from the Serenade Cricut cart, the bird from my SU! punch, the lace is Prima from Stampin Munchkins (sob sob that she's gone...), and the flowers and leaves are Prima from Little C's. I'm not sure yet if I will put it on a card, stick it to my wall or turn it into a tag. I will be on the lookout for an inspirational word to place on here...any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

This is a picture of the drama that ensued from trying to find a good color combo...Am I alone when it comes to this craziness or do you struggle with the yucky feeling of "wasting" while you create? Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed weekend!

Hey Ali, no, you're not the only one going crazy when it comes to creating. I struggle with figuring out what it is I want to create in the 1st place. I can "imagine" it in my mind, but sometimes putting them into a project takes a LONG LONG TIME... thus, I end up feeling that I've "wasted" so much time. Here are projects I created, that I kept thinking about, but took forever to create into paper.... hope you like them!!

I made baskets... for this basket, I used the Nut Cup from "George" cartridge. The handle was cut with "Cindy Loo" cartridge, sentiment is from "Beyond Birthdays" cartridge. The image is from Dustin Pike and was colored by my very artistic friend, Ann.

Here is a cute bunny basket I also cut out and pieced together. I created a basic basket on Design Studio to put together. Which you could make virtually any type of basket once you've cut out the main basket piece. The bunny is from "Doodle Charms" cartridge. The handle is from "MS All Occasions" cartridge. If you would like to cut this basket, you can download it here. You will need these cartridges, along with the Design Studio program, and a Cricut Machine Expression machine.

Well, that's all folks. We hope you have a blessed weekend and week.... until' next Friday!
Blessings,
Ali and Jen

Little C's Challenge: A Sketch

Good Tuesday Morning Friends! Sorry I have been MIA, I have been taking care of Little C's orders (the 40% discount on Rubber/Acrylic stamps are still going on!), and it has been nothing but crazy madness here. I am here to tell ya, that I just cannot wait til' it's over. Then I will be FREE! LOL... The stamps are going quickly, and I have also been putting them in bundles. So check out the grab bag section for low priced items. So far, I've posted 8 Grab Bags, and they are great deals!!! Great for yourself, door prizes, blog giveaways, gifts, etc., etc., at a low low price!!

This morning, I went to the dentist to check out my aching tooth. I had some shave ice sometime a week or so ago, and the pain that I had after eating the shave ice, was excruciating!!!! Oh gosh, I mean, I was killing over, and asking the Lord for Help, Help, Help!! Sure enough, He heard my prayers, and soothe the pain, but it was lingering around. Therefore, I went to the dentist this morning, had it checked out, and lo n' behold, the tooth is ok, and nothing serious for him to do anything about it. So YAY!!! Praise the Lord!! Thank you for not having me go through something that isn't necessary. I just gotta watch out and be sensitive to my sensitivity of my tooth.

This week @ Little C's, we're having a Sketch Challenge. Simple, just create a project using the sketch above. This is what I came up with.

Funny, because all 3 Divas used The Greeting Farm images, and all images that we've chosen were all "sitting" types. Neat, huh?! I colored my image with Copics. BG embossing is Cuttlebug's Victoria folder. I wasn't sure about this color combo I used, but looks like it turned out pretty good.

Well, if you wanna play, be sure to check out the Little C's Challenge Blog, and get the details.

Have a blessed day in the Lord. I hope I can get some creativity going on my end here. Please keep me in your prayers.

God Bless!
Hugs,

Jen

A Cute Popsicle Card: DS & GYPSY Cut Files and Pics from recent Glama gathering

Every month, my girlfriends n' I, a.k.a the "Glama Gurlz" get together to create, eat and talk stories. It fun to fellowship with each other, and find out what each has been up to. For the month of April, our Sister Jodie shared with us on how to color with Copics. She is who I learned from, and I am so grateful to her for that. I thank the Lord for his blessings of talents upon Ms. Jodie!!!

During the Glama Gurlz gathering, I also had out my Gurrlie Girl products for all to check out and try on. Everyone loved the sparkles and shines of the jewelry presented, as well as the purses and shirts that were available. We didn't have a material to layout beneath the products, so Barb decided to lay down some white paper instead, and that worked out just fine!! I was planning on having the gathering in my garage, but I was in a rush in getting things set up, that I settled for doing it indoors. Everything worked out great though, thanks to Barb for calming my nerves that day.

Barb keeps me going. She makes sure that I am focused and that I am fueled with Pepsi. LOL!! Not to mention all the teeny-weeny details that I may forget to do. So glad to have her by side during those days. I always enjoy the company of all the other ladies that attend as well. It's such a blessing to have these ladies part of my creative life.

For the GG's, I had 2 projects for them to create, one of which I shared on this post, and the other a Popsicle Card shown below. As Jodie continued to share her coloring techniques with some, the others created the projects that I had for them to do.

At each gathering, we do a "$5 Swap" of goodies. Not NEW goodies, but just goodies you have lingering around that you don't plan on using, or perhaps have more than 1 of. It's fun to do, because you feel like your "non-used" items are now going to a "good-use" purpose. If you don't end up using it, then you can always put it back in a swap again. Hopefully it's 1st sender doesn't receive it back, huh? Naw, but it's all in good fun. We also have yummie yumms at the gatherings. Jenny here brought us Red Velvet Cupcakes from Starbucks. What an expensive treat!!! Thanks Jenny!!

I didn't get a chance to jump in on any of the pictures. Hopefully at the next session I will. I always forget to get my camera out when we're having so much fun, and of course there are some of those that don't want to be on the web.

Well, here is the project that I had them do. I cut the Popsicle card on my Cricut X, using my DS program to make the card. I have both the DS and GYPSY Cut Files available (scroll down for download links), and the image that I used is Kiki Cupcake from Little C's. She is colored with Copics, and she's soooo adorable. As for the card itself, you could make it any "flavor" that you want, by simply changing the colors of the cardstock. So if you create with this cut, keep in mind that it isn't limited to just 1 flavor, I hope you try out many flavors, esp with Summer right around the corner!!! Yeeee..... I can't wait for summer!!!!

Cart Used: Doodlecharm

Thank you for stopping in, and I hope you enjoy your day today. Have fun with this cut file.

Today's Question: How many pets do you have?
I have 5, all dogs... they are (from oldest to youngest): Ehu (girl), Spottie or "Pup-Pup", Ceasar, Camille or "Cami" (girl) n' ChrisJen
