January Cards for ATP Ministries Hawaii

Hey There!! Happy Aloha Friday!!! I am posting the set of cards that Ali n' I created for ATP Hawaii Ministries for the month of January. This is the ministries that I was sharing with you earlier, about how I wanted to create n' donate at least 10 cards to this ministry monthly. For this month, I used digital images from Dustin Pike's Doodle Dragon's Studio and Hero Arts sentiments. Ali used Stampin' Up! images and sentiments.

Get Well Cards

Good Morning Thursday, Gang!! Hope your week is going well... Today I have a couple of "Get Well" cards...

This one was colored and created by my gf's 11 year old daughter, Maria.... she did a real great job coloring and then cutting it out so neatly, didn't she???? The image is a Dustin Pike image. She will be giving this card to her grandma, who recently got out of the hospital.




This one is one that I made. I had the image colored awhile ago, and thought I'd just put a card together, because I didn't want the image to go to waste. I believe this image is a Whipper Snapper image. Nothing smancy.... real sweet n' simple! Buttons add a little flare, but not too much to make it fall over.

Several Simple Thank You Cards

First off, Happy Birthday to my sister, Jackie!!! And I ain't April Foolin' you!!! Happy Aloha Friday, too!! Yay!!! I have been looking forward to this day... as said in my earlier post this week, I am trying to be more on top of things, by doing more house chores, and then focusing on my crafting only once a week. Well, the neat thing is, with the Lord's help, as I continually focus on what is pleasing to HIM by getting all my house chores done in the mornings, I have some time to create after that. It's a small window of opportunity, but I am so grateful for it. The Lord has blessed me and my family in so many ways, so the least I can do for HIM is to obey and do what I am called to do. With His help, I am able to accomplish these tasks, Thank You Lord!!!

So here I am, sharing with you a little pile of Thank You cards that I was able to push out yesterday. All were created with the same image, from Dustin Pike's Doodle Dragon Studios. I love his drawings. They are so adorable and so much fun to color. Well, at one time, I had colored a bunch of these "Thank You" bears, and I never had the time to put them on cards. I finally sat myself down, and said "JUST DO IT!!!". So this is how they turned out... I used left over scraps and cardstock from some of my unfinished card kits that I had for classes. This was very satisfying knowing that I was putting these to good use.

Today, I am heading down to Cutter Dealership to get some stuffs finished on my car. There are a couple of smudges that I thought would've come off with a wash, but they didn't, so Cutter is going to detail and take care of those smudges. Also adding racks to my car, and all of that is going to take about 4 hours. So after being dropped off at home by our salesman, I will be bonded to my house for at least 4 hours with no way of getting out. Accckkkk!!! But it's ok, I'll be able to create some fun things while waiting til' my car is completed. LOL!!! I am sure time will fly quickly, and before I know it the car will be all done, right??

Well, here are the rest of the cards I created. Fast, Fun n' Easy to make....




The pretty doily die cut in the above card is a Die-Namics cut, from My Favorite Things.

The Aloha Friday Post: Using Cricut Cartridges and a Freebie too!!!

It's Aloha Friday... no work til' Monday!! Here are the projects we have to share with you today.

The cage was cut from the Serenade Cricut cart, the bird from my SU! punch, the lace is Prima from Stampin Munchkins (sob sob that she's gone...), and the flowers and leaves are Prima from Little C's. I'm not sure yet if I will put it on a card, stick it to my wall or turn it into a tag. I will be on the lookout for an inspirational word to place on here...any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!


This is a picture of the drama that ensued from trying to find a good color combo...Am I alone when it comes to this craziness or do you struggle with the yucky feeling of "wasting" while you create? Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed weekend!


Hey Ali, no, you're not the only one going crazy when it comes to creating. I struggle with figuring out what it is I want to create in the 1st place. I can "imagine" it in my mind, but sometimes putting them into a project takes a LONG LONG TIME... thus, I end up feeling that I've "wasted" so much time. Here are projects I created, that I kept thinking about, but took forever to create into paper.... hope you like them!!

I made baskets... for this basket, I used the Nut Cup from "George" cartridge. The handle was cut with "Cindy Loo" cartridge, sentiment is from "Beyond Birthdays" cartridge. The image is from Dustin Pike and was colored by my very artistic friend, Ann.



Here is a cute bunny basket I also cut out and pieced together. I created a basic basket on Design Studio to put together. Which you could make virtually any type of basket once you've cut out the main basket piece. The bunny is from "Doodle Charms" cartridge. The handle is from "MS All Occasions" cartridge. If you would like to cut this basket, you can download it here. You will need these cartridges, along with the Design Studio program, and a Cricut Machine Expression machine.

Guy Card with Dustin Pike's Image

Hey All... Happy Thursday! What a gloomy day it looks like it's going to be. But we just have to make the best of it, right? Actually, I love gloomy days outside. I love the rain, I love to drive in the rain... the weather isn't THAT freezin' like it is on the mainland, where it rains, and it's terribly cold. It's just NICE and cool when it rains here. The aftermath sucks tho', because it gets all humid and stuff. So, Thank The Lord for AC!!!

Today's project was created for a Brother in Christ, whose birthday was last week. So hard to make guy cards, but with Dustin Pike's images, I have a huge selection to choose from. I LOVE his work. Cute, Cute, CUTE!!! Just the kinda images I like the guy stuffs to be. Of course we can't make the card look TOO cute, because then it doesn't go by the receiver as well, huh? I have to make another card for my Pastor whose birthday is tomorrow. So I'll have to dive into Dustin's images again, and see which one I'll use for that one.

Anyways, on this card I used one of the bear images that Dustin had. It looks like one of those pics of us ladies in the tub, but a big teddy instead. The guy I made this card for is one big teddy bear, too! His present from me is a Starbucks GC, because he LOVES Starbucks!! Which I put on the inside, simply but creating a little pocket, by cutting a piece of white cardstock, and then using an oval punch (ret from Stampin' Up!), and then I used a pen to add some lines n' dots to the bordering edges. The sentiment is also a Stampin' Up! stamp, which is a Hostess Level set, that could be EARNED for FREE!! Email me for details, or visit my Stampin' Up! site here. The button on the front (striped) is from WalMart, so big and pretty, huh? Don't tell him that... hahaha... the sentiment on the front of the card is from The Greeting Farm, and it came from a set that Ali gave me. I used clear sticklez for the bubbles and light blue sticklez for the water. Copic markers to color my image. Spellbinder Nesties to cut out the image, and scallop layer, and decorative scissors to cut out the scallop around my sentiment. The sentiment was punched out with the Word Window punch from Stampin' Up!.

This past Tuesday, my family and I went to visit my grand-niece, Kyrie. She just slept the whole time we were there. Sierra said that she keeps sleeping. But I had to remind Sierra (and myself), that we'd be super tired too if we had to go through all that a day before. What a blessing. Cyrus really loved seeing his cousin, and the best part was that daddy helped him to hold her in his arms. It was so cute. He held her there for a good 15 mins! I couldn't believe how STILL he was and how STILL he could be. It was the sweetest and more precious thing to watch. Kyrie went home yesterday. I wanna go and see her today, but today my lil' one has the sniffles. Not sure if it is just allergies, or that he is coming down with something. So I put him on some allergy meds, and will find out later.

Oh, I have 2 Craft Fairs coming up that I will be selling my stuffs at. I will try and put out the left over inventory from my Little C's store, if not, more of the items will be handmade. Going to try it out and see how it works for me. But I will post later with where and the dates of these craft fairs, so that the locals can come by and say "HI".

Father's Day Card - Dustin Pike's Images

Good Friday Morning, Sisters!!! I am enjoying my hubby's day off today, and almost forgot to post this. I made this card for my hubby this year, for Father's Day. Ya, I know - kinda late I'm posting it, but I didn't have a chance to post it anywhere, and I didn't have the time either. So, finally, I am posting this baby up.

I used the image set from Dustin Pike's Space Dragon Set which I spent $3 to get. So Cheap!!! The sentiment is hand written by me, tho'. So sorry - that don't come with the set. LOL....

I really enjoyed coloring n' creating this card. I actually really enjoy coloring Dustin Pike's images. He is such an awesome artist. I'm happy to see that some of my Local sisters are also purchasing n' creating with his images. Way to go sisters!!!

I used my copic to color, for the dragon's helmet, I used the shimmer chalk too so that there could be a shimmery sheen over it. I also added shimmer everywhere else I thought it needed shimmer on my card.

Anyways, not really sure what we're going to do today, but I gotta get going and work on some images that needs to be done.

So you all have a blessed weekend. If you are in the US, enjoy your Independence Day weekend, have a great time BBQ-ing, and let's continue to pray that N. Korea isn't going to send a missile towards Hawaii.

Noah's Ark fr Dustin Pike

Update 6/16/09: I am submitting this card for the Copic Challenge going on right now. Check it out n' play along!!!


Aloha Everyone!! Keeping this post real short, as I'm heading out the door for a fun day today. I created this card for a friend of mines who is traveling to Japan to minister and share the word of the Lord. This is the 2nd year he is going, and what a blessing he is.

Image is from Dustin Pike, colored with my Copic Sketch Markers, and sponged with blue ink using my cosmetic sponge. I also used a large Spellbinder Circle Scallop die cut, CB folder - which I can't remember what the name of that folder is called, and DSP is from TAC. Cardstock is SU! Real Red, and Brown is Bazzill Basic. I used the same DSP n' Cardstock from yesterday's posting - and had a little more to spare, so thought I'd use it again. Plus they go so well together. Oh and the sentiment is also a TAC stamp.
