Word Up Wednesday

Aloha Gang!! Sorry! I forgot to post this yesterday... yesterday was my "Word Up Wednesday" Challenge. Here is what I created.

Created this teacher card for my son's teacher. We are so blessed to have my youngest attend an online private Christian-based school for the last couple years now. The Lord was preparing us for this lockdown way before the lockdown was even in place. He didn't need to "all of a sudden" switch to online teaching (cause he already was), he didn't need to "stay home" (cause he already was), and he didn't need to wait for his teachers to figure out what was going to happen next, because they just continued doing what they were already doing. We were truly blessed.

Teacher met with him online every week and guided him in the areas he needed help and encouraged him in the areas that he was doing great or needed a nudging in. Weekly reports on his progress is sent out to us so that we can see his improvements. The teacher worked with his schedule during our move last November and as we traveled back n' forth to Hawaii. However, the best thing for us as Christian parents, is that the teacher prays with their students.

If you are interested in perhaps having your child to do an online school program, I highly recommend Calvary Preparatory Academy - Online. They are currently in open enrollment and taking kids 6th-12th grade.

Mahalo Dr. VW for all your hard work this year. We cannot thank you enough for all that you've done.

I made this with Queen & Co's stackable word dies, I used FOAM to cut out the dies, and used glue to adhere them to the card base. My apologies for all the white speckles here n' there... I should've used my heat gun to blow them off. LOL!!!

Little C's Aloha Friday Challenge: Scripture Challenge

Aloha Gang!!! Happy Aloha Friday!!!  I apologize for the week break. We left for a trip to witness the nuptials of my oldest boy to his beautiful bride.  We headed to WA, and I thought I was going to be able to post my challenge, because we returned the night before last week's challenge, but the next day, I was pooped. Haven't really had any crafty mojo for the last week... but I think it's time to get up n' get going!!!

The embossing is from FSJ, and the stamp is from Sweet & Sassy Stamps. I used Pan Pastels to go over the embossing, so that the image would pop. :)

Little C's Aloha Friday Challenge - Things With Strings

Going into this week's challenge, it's pretty simple... the theme is:

"Things with STRINGS"

Simply use string or twine on your project. Ribbons will NOT be accepted. Here is my sample project. I created this card using Little Scraps of Heaven Designs Digi!!!! I am on the DT of this paper piecing company, and the owner has most recently started creating digitals, and we have been trying to incorporate more projects using them.  You will find that she has these in a COMBO set, where not only the cut files are available, but colored AND outlined digitals are included. You should check it out if you LOVE digitals.....

 So, here is my take on this week's challenge....

As you can see... the "strings" are tied at the top of my cards, but even in the image, there are "strings" attached to the balloons. So go ahead, and try n' create using this theme... have fun with it, and don't forget to add your project to the link button below.

Now on to this week's theme challenge.... was gonna make it pretty vague and call it a "Fantasy" theme, but instead, I thought I'd make it specifically for MERMAID!!!! So, our theme for this weeks challenge will be:

~*~MERMAID~*~

You are welcome to make a project with 1 mermaid, or 2 or more mermaids. I am sharing my projects here, these are 4 mermaid cards, of which I created using Fun Stampers Journey's July Bloom Kit. The kit comes with everything to make 4 cards!!! I will share more info in another post tomorrow... showing each card in detail, but here are some ideas of creating your mermaid cards and projects.... 

So, just create anything that has a mermaid on it, and you're good to go!! I know there are tons of mermaid you could use on your projects. Search "Free Mermaid Digital Stamp" if you have NO MERMAID on hand, and would like to try out this challenge. I am sure you will find something. Have fun with your project, and I can't wait to see it!!!

Little C's Aloha Friday Challenges - Ombre Inking

Welcome back stampers!!!! So today is Aloha Friday!!! Today I begin my Little C's Challenges up again. I'm so excite. Because I really wasn't planning on putting up a challenge, but the Lord said, "just do it"... and so here I am... posting a challenge!! I hope you have some time to play along... there is a little prize that I will give to 1 winner at the end of the challenge week, and announced next week when our new challenge is posted. 

This week, the challenge to is create an ombre look on your project. An ombre look is simply a "faded" look to your creation. 

On my cards below, I created some "Beautiful You" cards using Unity Stamps, and the ombre look comes from Hero Arts Ombre Ink pads. You can see how the sentiment "Beautiful You" fades. There are so many fun ways to create this look... you can either stamp using an already ombre ink pad like I have, or simply stamp on, stamp again, and stamp again, until the entire image/sentiment is faded away. 

Anyways, I can't wait to see what you'll create..... Love Unity stamps esp when I'm feeling like being 'artsy fartsy'.... makes me feel like I've painted or used mixed media. This one I used my chalk, and ombre ink pads, that's pretty much it.
