Freebie Friday: Cricut Mouse Candy Cane Critter

Happy Aloha Friday!!!!  I have a FREEBIE for ya Cricut owners....  Sorry, no PDF format, because I am pretty sure you can find that somewhere online.  About 2 years ago, I received this cute idea from my crafty sister, Rita, when she sent me 1 in the mail.  She gave me an idea to have it cut on my Cricut, and not have to cut with scissors!!  I made it last year, but somehow, I totally forgot to post, and share with ya'll!!!  It was too late to post it for candy cane use!!  :)  But this year... I am happy to post this early enough so that ya'll have enough time to create with it and send to all your friends and kiddies.  Add a ribbon to the candy cane, and it makes it ever so adorable!!

Let's Get Cuttin' - Bracket Top Box - Freebie Cut File

Hey gang... Welcome back!!  Hope your 4th was a well rested, and yet fun with family n' friends kinda holiday.  Tonight, I will be heading out to a viewing of my Uncle who passed away due to heart failure.  He was old and weak, we knew it was coming, but still, it's so very sad to lose a loved one.

Well I am trying to find way's to motivate myself, in creating and using all the stuffs I have in my craft collection.  Because there are just too much, that I just want to do them all, but just don't know where to start.  So, I need structure!!!  LOL...  therefore I am gonna have "Theme Days".  It's a challenge to myself, but I'm gonna add a Inlinkz button to the bottom of each of my challenges, and if anyone plays along with me, I'll check out their projects, and comment on them too.  If I have enough players, maybe I'll even give a prize just for playing along with me.  :)

Today's theme is titled "Let's Get Cuttin' ".  I can use anything that will die cut anything... Cricut, eClips, Spellbinder, Silhouette, Big Shot... get the picture??  Yes!!  So if you wanna play along with me, create, and link up your cuttin' creations to mines!!

Here is what I created using my Cricut Machine, together with my Design Studio program, and both the George and Accent Essential carts.  Oh and guess what??  I purchased the Big Top Notes die cut from Stampin' Up!, so I'm gonna have to try that top with this box cut and see how it turns out.  Of course you can probably cut and make your own box.  But since I already have it all on my DS, I could use that right??  Oh for those of you that have that Gypsy, I also have it as a Gypsy cut file as well!!!  U R in LUCK!!!  :) 

I made this box for a friend who owns a massage company.  She was going to put some of her homemade soaps in them.  :)  They turned out really cute, and she really liked them, except I made a few others, and she just couldn't decided right at that moment which one she wanted to go with.  So she said that she'd get back to me later about that decision.  :)

FREEBIE: CD/DVD Envelope Cut File On Design Studio

Aloha! Thank You for stopping by!! Today I have a CD/DVD case that I created on the Design Studio program. I made couple of these cases for the slide show created for my niece's 1st birthday. We made copies of the slide show, as gifts for Great Grand Parents and Grand Parents. I used George and Elegant Edges cartridges for this cut. However, the main CD/DVD case cut was made entirely with George. As Elegant Edges was used just for the design on the front of the case. Therefore, if you would like to download and use this cut file, George cartridge would be sufficient enough. I have both the Design Studio and Gypsy cut file available for download. The links are at the bottom of this post. The letter "K" is not included. ;o)

Diorama Project by my 6yr old and Freebie: Clouds Large n' Small for Cricut Design Studio

Today I have a project to share that my 6 yr old did during his 1st grade year. It was a book report that was to be made into a diorama. We love these types of projects, because we can put my Cricut to use for these. Anyways, here is what the outcome is. I created some clouds with the George cartridge, on the Design Studio. If you have the Design Studio program and the George cartridge, you can use this cut file. I have 2 sets of clouds, 1 Larger Cloud set, and the other a Smaller Cloud Set. You can change the mat size to 6 x 12 and be able to cut on the smaller sized Cricut if that is what you have. The sun is from the Accent Essential cartridge. Trees (flat) are from Cindy Loo cartridge, House and 3-D Trees are from the Winter Woodland cartridge.

Sunday Journal.... April Showers

Welcome back... Friday night with my crafty sisters was a long awaited treat. Surprisingly, I had no coffee. But we were up all night talking stories and just having a great time creating. The Lord has really blessed me with loving friends. He is so awesome!!! Thank You, Lord for my Girlfriends n' Sisters in Christ!!

Yesterday was a loooooong day!! It started off with attending Cy's class spelling bee. We went to support two of his classmates, who unfortunately were eliminated. We then made a quick stop to Leonard's Bakery for Malasadas... yummmm!!! Fortunately, my hubby doesn't eat Malasada's, so more for US! Heh, Heh..... then my oldest had a relay event at the University, which lasted pretty much the ENTIRE day. I brought my laptop along, because in between events there was really nothing to do but wait around, eat snacks, and wait around some more. So I got some reading up on digital scrapbooking, and am so excited for what I was able to learn. Anyways, what a great experience it was for all of the kids at their school.

Ok well, today's Sunday Journal theme is "April Showers".... hmmm... I just love the rain!! I love journaling!! I love journaling while it is raining!!! The tender pitter-patter sounds, or the loudness of the heavy rain, all the different sounds that rain makes. When I was a little kid, I owned a dairy... did you hear this story before? Haha, I think I already told you that. Anyways, today we have our journaling and I tell you what, just as a kid, I can still write a whole lot of things about one thing, for now this is what I came out with the topic of "Rain/April Showers". I'm sure that in the future, if this theme came up again, I could write something totally different.

Journaling for me is more about writing and ot too much about the designing of a journaled page. The idea that came to my mind when I thought of April Showers were definitely a gathering of clouds, that had showers of rain falling from them. So I tried to incorporate that idea into my page. I cut out some clouds, which I created on my Design Studio, using the George cartridge. I actually made 5 clouds, but my page was big enough for just these 3. I sponged the edges with Cocoa ink, and then just drew in the raindrops. The page I just inked up with an ink pad, creating a grundgy storm look. In my journal, I just jumped around, to the middle of my journal, but adding the date so that when I look back, I'll be able to know when it was written. If you're wondering why there is a streak of yellow in the middle of my page, it's because it has to do with what I wrote. Feel free to read what I've journaled about. Then it'll help you to understand why that yellow coloring is where it is at.

Here is a pic of the clouds I made on the Design Studio, with George Cartridge. If you would like to cut this file, you will need the Cricut Personal Cutter or the Expression, along with the Design Studio and George cartridge. All you need to do is change the mat setting sizes if applicable.

Samples House Card Design Studio Cut File

Here are a couple of sample cards created using my House Card DS cut file. These cards were cut and decorated by my Crafty Stampin' Sisters, the Glama Gurlz!! They had fun cutting it out and decorating with any DSP of their choice. ;o) The cut file can only be cut using the Design Studio program. So be sure to have this program to use on your computer with your Cricut machine prior to purchasing the cut file.



I miss my Design Studio program. It's been a while since I've created something on it. Hopefully I can get on it again soon, and create something of pleasure. In the meantime, I guess creating samples for the cuts I've already created, are just as fun.

Tall Window Treat Boxes: August's Cricut Project of the Month:

Well hello crafters!! Happy Wednesday to ya! Today I am debuting my "Cricut Project of the Month - August". In previous posts, I have been referring to it as "August Cricut Class", but never really got a grasp on what I really wanted to call it. Finally, while talking on the phone with Rina yesterday, I said it, "August Circut Project of the Month". I pray that I will be able to bless you every month with a new Cricut Project. Now unfortunately, I do not have a video for you on this project, as this was another project that I've created before deciding on doing videos, so I hope you are not disappointed. However, I do want to introduce you to this upcoming digital image company called called Rianna & Me Designs. The illustrator, Ruth, is a local girl who lives here in the State of Hawaii, and this is the 1st of her images that she allowed me to play with. I met her through Renae of Two Scoops Rice Designs, and we're connected through Facebook! I'm blessed and honored that Ruth allowed me to play with this digi image, and I can see myself using this image more, with other projects I have in mind. At the moment, there is no name for this image, other than "Ruth's Cow"... LOL! But stay tuned, more images will be released soon, and I'm sure she'll come up with a name that is fitted just for this one.

The project of the month is called a "Window Treat Box". It comes in 2 sizes. One which is 5.5" tall, the other 3.5" tall. I have 2 cut file formats available - DS .cut file, and .gypsy cut file, for each size. At the moment I have the cut files and a tutorial that comes with it for the Tall Window Treat Box. I am working on the tutorial for the Short Window Treat Box, and a sample as well - so I will be posting that up in a couple of days. The box is pretty big and can easily store a bunch of candies in them. The box that I am showing here is the Tall Window Treat Box @ 5.5" tall, and it holds 1 bag of Hershey Kisses, and I tossed in some Dove Milk Chocolates in there too, so this thing is mighty hefty filled. I am keeping this box next to my computer station for emergency breakdown purposes!! The other treat box with the pineapple window, went to my girl, Ms. Rina, for her birthday. Filled it with some Snickers snack bites, and viola' - an awesome treat box!! The best thing about this project, is that you can change the window design to anything that you have using any design from any other Cricut cartridge. It is ENDLESS!!

For this project, you will need the George cartridge, Design Studio program or Gypsy and a Cricut X, double stick tape and acetate (for the window). I am selling the cut file together with a step-by-step PDF format tutorial for $3.95. Without the tutorial, you can get the cut file of your format choice for $2.50. Featured Cricut Cartridge: George

Well Hello There!! Yesterday was my "Featured Cricut Cartridge Day", which I missed out on, because I was out n' about doing stuffs with my kids. So I'm posting this today... I used the random number generator on Random.Org to help me decide which cartridge I would be featuring. The # selected was #20, and #20 on my Cartridge list is "George". So off to my craft table I went to play with this cartridge. While there are many things to create using George together with the Design Studio program, I wanted to feature items that I can make manually, for those that don't have the Design Studio program "just yet". SO here's what I got...

I am working on my Grandma's birthday stuffs, and one of the projects is a box for her birthday cards. So I took my camera box that I had lying around for several years (lol! I don't like throwing boxes away, unless I really know that I don't need them, and found this box in my closet, while clearing it out). Well, I dressed up the box, first with a layer of black cardstock, and then DSP from 3 Bugs in A Rug. I cut the sentiment "Birthday Blessings" on my Cricut, using the George cartridge. 1st using the base cut, and then using the shadow cut to make the black layer. The flowers are also from George. But I used Tim Holtz' Grunge Flower technique to make these 3D flowers. I've also did a step-by-step picture tutorial to share. I've seen sooo many tutorials on making this pretty flower, but was 1st introduced to it by my girlfriend, Ali. When she n' I were messing around making paper flowers - so much fun!!

Here is the top of the box, the opening is where the cards can be slipped in. I really like te pretty black n' red color combo that I've used. I sprayed them with White/Crystal Smooch spray. Which I purchased from Photo Craft. They have an array of Smooch sprays along with other crafty goodies there, so if you live on Oahu, or visiting, be sure to check it out.

Little C's Challenge: Candy & Pink: A DS & GYPSY Cut File

Aloha All!! I'm late on my Little C's Challenge this week! Getting off to a late start, because of the long holiday weekend. =0) I had such a great time with my hubs. So sad that he had to go back to work on Monday, but what an awesome quality time we had together.

Well, this week on Little C's challenge, the theme is Candy n' Pink. There is an inspiration pic that we are to be inspired by. The picture shows lots of candies n' plenty of pink, that's why I say Candy n' Pink. I opted to create this adorable Coffee Bag that Marcia shared with me, which I changed the design of it a little. I have both .cut and .gypsy cut files available, which you can download either one by clicking on the "Fun Cuts" link, and you will find this cut under "Bags, Boxes & Favors".

My friend Charlotte actually colored this image, which is an image from Two Scoops Rice Designs. I took my Copic Markers to church during our 1st Saturday Family Night Service, and was teaching a couple of the sisters how to color with these markers. Charlotte was a 1st time coloring girl. LOL... So, she colored, and put it back into my bin. I am finishing it up, and used it on today's project, and will later give this to her so that she can see how pretty how colored image turned out to be. She wasn't so sure she did a good job, but I told her she did a FAB-U-LOUS job!! The flowers are from All Natural Accents. I also used Liquid Pearls {Raspberry} to add a little pearlescent dots around the circle. The acetate plastic that I used to cover the circle is from my Cricut cartridge casing. Yep - Thought they'd make great use for my window type projects. Will have to make more of these. =0)

Oh! BTW - just wanted to do a shout out to ManLe of Pineapple Cove, and Thank her for helping me with the frame around my pic. Turns out that something so easy seemed so hard to do, until she showed me the right place to look. Thanks, Sister!!
