Mixed Media Booklet Cover

Aloha All!!

Hope your week is going well. I am starting to love what I do again (creating), and I'm enjoying the blogging as well. Not sure how many people read my blog, but even if there is just one, I am happy that you are still here! :)

Today, we checked out a mall and found my Wintermelon Milk Tea w/Lychee Jelly!! I was so happy. At this same location, they also had a "Poke" (raw fish section). I go brave and asked the cashier if they were from Hawaii, and YES, they were!!! So awesome to meet other people and "see" familiar faces. Cause, even though I've never met them, their looks look like the people I am used to seeing in Hawaii. So, it was an awesome meeting. We promise to go back again, and get our fill of poke when needed.

Today, I am sharing this video I created of my completed cover of my Mix Media Booklet. In it I share the products I've used and talk about using SPACKLING in place of modeling paste. Everytime I see modeling paste used, I think.... "hmmmm, I wonder if I could use spackling (for dry wall repair) instead", I finally had a chance to purchase a canister, and yay! Got to try it out!! So here is my video and below it are still pics of my project. Hope you're having a blessed week!!!

Aloha,
Jen

Hello Bluebird

Eeeeps, a friend of mines introduced me to this adorable stamp company, oh how I just LOVE LOVE LOVE cute stamps!!! This company is called "Hello Bluebird" and this is the first card I created using their stamps. I used distressed oxide ink to make the background, stamped the images on watercolor paper and colored with my ZIG Watercolor Brush Pens, then intricately cut them out. LOL!! I'm so cheap, I'd rather not spend the $$$ to buy the coordinating die cuts, because I'd rather spend the money on stamps instead. I could easily create die cuts of these stamps using my eCal and then cutting on my eClips2 machine, but this was created in the middle of the night when the hubs was fast asleep, and I didn't want to turn the machine on cause it might've woken him. So for this card, I cut out each image... loved creating this card. It was so cute!! Thank you Lianne Higa for sharing this company with me.

I colored another elephant that was part of the stamp set, and just attached it to the acetate. In the future, should I want to use it, I can just remove and adhere to my project.

Here is my order of Hello Bluebird stamps... everything is oh so cute!!!! Now to find more time to create. Can I just stay up ALL NIGHT?!?!?!

Have a blessed Sunday, everyone! Thanks for peeking in.

Aloha,
Jen

ZIG Watercolor Brush Pen Tutorial

Aloha Gang... hope you're week has been going by well. I have been posting my creations to my FB pages, and keep forgetting to update my blog. I have to remind myself to just do it the same time I post to FB. I just feel like I have more to say or want to say more when I am blogging. But maybe I will just post the same things that I post on my FB when it comes to my blog. What do you think?

Anyways, today, I have a new tutorial up on my You Tube Channel today... tutorial is on how to use the Zig Watercolor Brush Pens, using RG Avenue stamp set "Love Notes" and RG Avenue "Black Taffy" ink pad. The still pics of the projects I created are on the bottom of this post. Thanks for stopping by!!! Enjoy!!

Thanks again for stopping by!

Aloha,
Jen

Jen's September Crafty Session - Friday

Aloha Crafty Friends!! Every month a hold a crafty session with my crafty friends. We get together and create using products from all different types of companies. It's the best fun ever. Then we go out on a little excursion, and break bread together. I host this crafty session every 3rd Friday and 3rd Saturday of the month, and it is by invitation only, or you'll need to know someone within the group to attend. I've closed it up to make it a special type of group, making it more intimate and fun for the ladies that attend. I so love these group of ladies, and the Lord has placed each of them in my life for a reason.

So, the products we created with came from RG Studio 360, RG Inspired Products, Hero Arts, Altenew, My Favorite Things... I am pretty sure that was about it. Here are pics from Friday's session. I will post more pics after my Saturday session tomorrow. :)

Table all pretty and ready to go!!! My friend, Richard Garay sent me these paper mats for my sessions, and I am just loving how they are looking.

Here is one of the card samples... digital image is from RG Studio 360; I printed them on watercolor paper, using my laser printer, and then coloring using the watercolor paints I got from Altenew.

Here are several samples I created, my ladies were free to paint with whatever color they wanted.... so wanted to share with them several color choices....

Working on a card using Altenew, and Pan Pastels....

Us at Rokaru during lunch. Yummerz!!!!

My die cutting machine (crank one), an RG Inspired Product.

My Bellaboo, she was so well behaved, and just sat on my chair, or Wini's chair... she was loving the company. Thank You for being so well behaved, Bella!!!

Then a selfie shot before we all went our separate ways.

Thank you for coming out, ladies!!! So much fun!!! Love talking stories and hanging out, eating and creating with all of you. Always a blessing. Thank You for being a blessing in my life.

Aloha,
Jen

Happy Independence Day

Aloha Crafty Friends,

Happy Independence Day... who is playing in their craft room and who is gonna be at the beach, if none of these things, then what will you be doing?? We are just gonna be BBQing and being lazy at home. Plenty of my friends and family are camping overnight and BBQing at the beach... nah, I rather not. I like being home, where I don't need to walk very far to the bathroom, or be in the hot sun, hoping to find shade, or moving your chair to get outtah the sun... then there is the sand... ugh.... wish I had a pool, but I will have to settle for AC for now.

Anyways, sharing with ya'll another card I created with MFT's Elephant set.  This is another CASED card. Found the idea off the web. These are too cute!!! I think I will make 1 or 2 more cards with this set, before moving on... These were stamped on water color paper, and colored with ZIG Watercolor Pens.

Thanks for popping in, have a blessed day celebrating America's Independence!!!!

Aloha,
Jen

Creating Stamped Die Cuts On eCal and Cutting With The eClips2 Machine

Aloha Crafty Friends....

I have been working on making die cuts of these adorable MFT Stamps on my eCal program and cutting them on my eClips2 machine!!! I did however purchase a BUNCH of die cuts already, and then I remembered.... duh, can easily make the cuts on the eCal!!! So for future stamps, I’ll have to remember that I no need buy the matching die cut sets anymore (for clear Stamps).

Stamps are all from My Favorite Things. Love them... they are SO CUTE!!! There was at one time tho', I remember back in the beginning days of my blogging days, these MFT stamps didn't even look like these. They were mostly stamps of body parts, usually a stamp from the next down. They weren't that cute, and I didn't take much interest in them. Now, they've come up with these adorable sets, so cute cute cute!!! I just can't get enough. So far, I try to be a part of every release, since March. LOL!!!  I still go on their website, and can find something that I NEED!! LOL!!!!

So Anyways, just wanted to show you all the dies I was able to cut on my eClips2 machine, took it less than 45 seconds to cut all of these!!! Amazing!!!! I cut these on 140# Water Color Paper. Eeeeeps!!!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! Thank You, Lord!!! Such a wonderful feature, thank you eCal!!!! I heard you are able to do this same thing on the Silhouette/Cameo machine too, and I am sure on other machines. I'm just stoked that this saved me some serious buckaroos!!!!

Last but not least, I am sharing a card with you. This is a CASED card, the background I used is an extra watercolor background technique from last month's crafty session.  I have 3 others that I need to use. These elephants are tooo cute!! They are from My Favorite Things. I'll make a few more cards with these. Hope your week is going well!!!! Enjoy tomorrow's holiday off.... Thanks for stopping by!!!

Aloha,
Jen

Easter Blessings

So here is how my project turned out. I ended up making 4 shaker cards with the images I colored from The Greeting Farm. They turned out so cute!!!!  I had a lot of fun creating these shaker cards, especially because it's been awhile since I've created a shaker card. But yay!!! Love how they turned out, will be making more in the future.

One of the cards got messed up. So I'm keeping that one for myself. But all in all, these turned out so cute. Here are the products I used:

  • Images: The Greeting Farm Stamps
  • Sentiment: Fun Stampers Journey
  • Cross: Sweet & Sassy Stamps
  • Die Cut: My Favorite Things
  • Cardstock & Ink: Fun Stampers Journey
  • Colored with: ZIG Watercolor Brush Pens
Thanks for stopping by!!!
