Tiddly Ink's Hot Coca

Bleh. Not one of my best... I colored this up for the DT call, but ended up not really liking my coloring. So I put this one the side. When I look at the pic, it still makes me feel farm n' fuzzy though.  I could've done better. LOL!!

I am not submitting this card to any challenges today. Just thought I'd share that even if I don't like how it turned out, I can still share with y'all!!!

Mahalo for stopping by, spending a little bit of your time with me, and if you've commented, I really appreciate that you took the time to do that!!  Come and join my Facebook Group, "Creating with Jen" for details of this card, and how I created it. Also weekly prize giveaways!!!!

Aloha, Jen

Tiddly Inks DT Call

Aloha!!! Happy Tuesday!!! It has been several days since I've last posted. Actually, a week!! So much was happening last week, I really had no time to post to my blog. I created some projects, but just didn't have the time to post them. I've started my son on homeschool, and that alone has been a challenge in itself. Trying to get him on a schedule, and trying to find out what is his learning curve. I felt like I wanted to pull teeth the first couple of days. But with prayer and support from other homeschool moms, we were able to get through our 1st week of homeschooling.

We also had an excitement of 2 hurricanes heading our way!! WOW!! By the grace of God, our state was spared.  Some of our friends and family on the Big Island were affected though. But Praise God that there were no fatality.  We were as prepared as we could ever be.  The first storm, Iselle hit the Big Island like it ran into a wall, and broke into pieces. The 2nd storm, Julio, veered off towards the North when he saw what happened to Iselle.  God is GOOD!!!  :)

Now that all that excitement has calmed down a bit, I have a little time to myself, I wanted to post this project.  Tiddly Inks is having a DT call.  I thought I'd take a stab at it, and submit my card here. I love all the images that Christy draws up.  Have been a fan, like in F-O-R-E-V-E-R!!!  They are always oh-so-CUTE!!!!  Not only are they cute, they are also fun to color with, using any medium!

I selected this sketch to follow from Creative Craft Cottage:

Here is how my project turned out. I decided to use the digital image called "Birthday Fishes".  This image also comes as a clear stamp in a set called "Floating By".

Details of my card:

  • Image: Tiddly Ink's digital image "Birthday Fishes"
  • Sentiment, Cardstock, DSP, Inks and Punches: Stampin' Up!
  • Coloring Medium: Copic Sketch Markers (image shown below of pens that I've used for this project)

And there you have it... I hope I am able to make the team.  Would love to work on her images.  Then again, even if I don't, I'd still work with her images anyways.  But I'd get to work on them MORE if I were on the team.  :)  So, say a little prayer that it'll be in my favor.  That the Lord's will be done.

I am also submitting this project to the following fun challenges out there:
That's all folks!!  Thanks for stopping by and checking out my post today.  Hope your day is blessed wherever you are!!  ALOHA!!!

Happy Valentine's Day... a Tiddly Inks Creation (and pics of Papayas too!!)

Howdy!!!  It's almost the end of the week... how fast time flies!!!  ***WAIT STOP!!! I wrote this post on Thursday, 1/10/13!!!  Just wanted to note this down, for future references.  Ok... you may continue!!!***  Yesterday, right after I dropped the boys off to school, I knew that I needed to head down to the store and pick up milk and eggs.   I got into the store, and the 1st person I see is a friend of mines from church!  We used to serve lunch together.  :)  Talking stories, and catching up, cause we always see each other in passing, but never had a chance to talk stories and such.  Then out of the corner of my eye... who do I see approaching me... Lu-Lu!!!  LOL!!! Funny...  the Lord knows I just need that girl in my life!  So we all 3 start talking stories, and doing small talk.  Then we must be on our merry way, and go about our shopping.  After we were all done with getting our items, we all meet up again at the cashier stand!!!  Bwahahahaa...  we bid each other good bye... and then it was time to start our busy day!!

I headed back home... threw a load in the wash (my goal this year is to at least throw 1 load in the wash daily!!  There is always something to wash, and I don't want to wait til' the weekend to do them.  The weekends are so busy with my boys, and if we're not out of the house, I want to play and create all day and not have to worry about doing house chores.  Heh! I took care of the dogs, then tended to the flowers in my garden.  Some of them are dying since it is *wind-ter* here.  I just pulled and cut off all the dead leaves, and then watered my yard.  I have a bunch of papayas growing now... and 2 eggplants growing nicely too.  Couple of the papayas are almost ready to pick, don't ya think?  I wanted to know when it was time to pick a papaya.. did a search on google, and got this page. I read up on the papayas and found some interesting things about it.  Did you know that papayas are either male, female or hermaphrodite?!!!  Sounds crazy right?  Very interesting!!! This is my 1st batch of papayas, so I'm probably going to give the 1st of them to my mom and dad.  I know they will be pretty stoked to see that their youngest child had planted a papaya tree all on her own, and now producing her own papayas!!  LOL!!  Funny, but really, they will be really happy to hear and see that my papayas are huge and yummy to eat!!!

MY PROJECT:

Ok, so I am now posting my project pretty last minute this morning!!  This week, I have been doing quite a few things last minute.  See... some days I can be "on time" and organized, and then there are days like today... where I am posting and trying to type as quick as possible before I am pulled away to do something... like I am just about to do right now!  YIKES!

Ok, I had to drop the boys off to school!!  On to my project before something else comes up!!

Valentine's is right around the corner, but LOVE should be celebrated EVERYDAY!!!!  LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!!  On this project, I used a Tiddly Inks digital stamp.    I then cut the image out, and applied foam tape to the back of it, so that it is raised a little from the actual card.  I love it, because it creates a natural shadow of the image... very cool!!!  The sentiment, I am sorry, but I don't know where it is from.  There could've been sooo much more that I could've done to this card.  But wanted to keep it simple, because this was one of the cards that went to my card ministry for ATP Hawaii Ministries.  I colored the image with my copic markerss, and it was a pretty easy card to complete.  So, yea!

Ok, that is that.  Thanks for stopping by, don't forget I have BLOG CANDI to give away!!!  It ends tomorrow, so get your name on here for a chance at winning!!!

Blessings ~

Sweet Stop Sketch #SSS165 with Short Tutorial

Welcome..I just spent the last couple of hours making "small" changes to my blog. I think I finally got it to how I want it to be... I can't believe it took me so long, and boy was it challenging!! I didn't want to move forward and post my project til' I was done.  I feel better than I've waited, but I'm so tired, I don't even want to write about my project.  LOL...  But, here I am and I'm going to go have at it!  :)

Well, I have decided that for each project I create, I wanted to try and create it according to a sketch and a color combo... or if possible, I'll do both on 1 project.  I think that this will motivate me and help me to really help my creativity grow.  With that being said... I wanted to 1st mention that I was surprised to find that my card was featured on Sweet Stop's blog, for being chosen as 1 of the top 3 Spotlight cards!!  That was pretty cool to see... I didn't even know, and when I went to check out what their new sketch was for this week, I found my card being in the spotlight!  Haha... how cool is that?

Ok, so on with the new sketch that they have for this week.  Here is sketch #SSS165.  Hmmmm...  I just love all the layers that they have on here.  Really helps me break outtah that mold of keeping my cards simple.  It's not that I don't want to make them simple, but I think adding more details to my cards and projects is going to help me get rid of the stuffs I keep buying.  I have some images that were already colored, and so I'll be creating with these, and trying to make them as quick as possible.  I don't know if it is a lack of not knowing what to create, or what to write about that takes away my interest in blogging or even not having enough time to do so?  But you know what is funny??  All this time I thought this blog was called "The Sweet Shop" and I just realized that it isn't that but "The Sweet STOP"... OMGoodness...  and I thought that they were making a mistake in their spelling - not realizing that even on their sketches they had "The Sweet Stop" as well... boy my eyes were playing tricks on me, huh?  What a dork I am...  I also decided to use the color combo shown here on the left for my project.  Finding it on the ColourQ blog.  If you need some color combo ideas, you should check out their blog.  They have a lot of pretty color combo's to choose from!!

Now to reveal my project...

Ta-Dah...

You'll Be Missed....

Here is a card that I made, to wish a Sister in Christ farewell.... the image I used on this card is from Tiddly Inks. There are some super cute images that Christy recently drew up! I haven't shopped TI in a while, but when I peeked into her shop, oh the delights that I find!! Just love her stuff, and I know you will too - so be sure to stop on by and check it out. The sentiment was computer generated. The sentiment on the inside was found on the internet via Google. :o)

I am entering this project to the following challenges:
Have a blessed day.... Aloha, Jen

Digi Image Sundays - Tiddly Ink's **NEW** Image

Good Morning Friends!! I hope you are having a fan-tabulous weekend. We had a little scare on Friday afternoon, first a thunder storm, and then a phone call from my hubby
calling from work stating that he needed to be taken to the E.R., because a bunch of insulation at work fell on top of his leg, causing great pain to his ankle. This pile of insulation that fell on him was nearly 300 pounds. It forced him to the floor, causing his glasses to fall off, and the forklift nearby drove over his glasses. So not only was he in pain, he could hardly see!! It's a good thing that the kids were on Spring Break, so we headed down to get him pronto! Well, after 2-1/2 hours at the E.R., turns out that his ankle was just a sprain, Thank God!!!

Yesterday evening we attended a wedding. Because of DH's foot, we didn't stay very long. But it was nice to get out together, just the two of us, and have the night out alone, it was like we were on a date. Well, here is a gate-fold card that I created for the bride n' groom. The image is a Tiddly Ink's image, which is a newly released image. Christy is having a 25% sale beginning today, and ending on the 3rd of May. So if you haven't already done so, go check out the new images that she's added to her collection. You will not be disappointed!!

I cut the Circle Scallop on my Cricut using my SCAL program. I found a very neat font that allows me to cut these types of shapes. Very interesting to find all sorts of free images on the net. I colored the image with Copic Sketch Markers, and flowers are from All Natural Accents.

Thanks for your time in stopping by n' commenting!! It's always a pleasure to "talk stories" with those of you that leave a word or two.

God Bless!!
Hugs, Jen

Birthday Theme - Day 3

Happy Thursday!! Hope you are all having a blessed week. We are enjoying this birthday week, because it's always great to have these projects handy for anyone's birthday that comes along. Here's what we have to share with you today...

The above project is actually a 4x6 memo pad. It doesn't have a sentiment, but it could easily pass for a birthday project.... the image is from one of my favorite digital companies - Tiddly Inks. I colored this image with Copic Sketch Markers.

The above card was created using a Friends Forever stamp, which I purchased off of eBay. I think the sentiment is from My Favorite Things. I colored the image with watercolor pencils.

Thanks for peeking in... have a blessed day!
