Another Owl Card

Hootie Hoo!!! Here is another Owl card I created using an owl digi image from Nancy Kubo's Lil Owl Graphics set. A pretty simple card, without a sentiment. Could be used for any occasion. Cuttlebug folder, buttons, spellbinder nesties and dew drops were used on my project.

Today is the 5th, and kids have been back to school, and we're all trying to get back into the "swing of things" and how it was before the crazy madness of the holiday season hit. I for one want to get back into creating projects but for now, I am still posting the ones that I've created at least 4-6 weeks ago. Man, where does the time go, huh?? Well, I pray that wherever you are, that you are having a great time getting back into the swing of things with your family and that you are not troubled with worries. Hoo! Hoo!!

Hoo Goes There?? This Owl image was printed from Nancy Kubo's "Lil Owl Graphics". You can get it from Little Dreamers Design. I'm trying to use up some images that I already have laying around, or already colored, and scrap paper. I also have some Dew Drops and Flowers on my card.

Yesterday, my mom and dad celebrated 49 years of being married. That's a lot of hard work. When I was young, I use to think that they would get a divorce, because they fought so much. Even to the point where I saw dishes flying and policemen arriving. But then, things started cooling off as I got older. I guess my parents learn more about each other, and grow to love and accept each others nick's and dents. Now, my hubby and I look up to them and see how much love they have for each other, and how time together really changes the heart. They are a true testimony of love in our eyes. I pray that the Lord continues to guide their hearts, and continues to bring wonderful years together. We took them to dinner last night, at the Oceanarium. It is a restaurant, with buffet dining that is around a HUGE aquarium filled with more than 400 fish!! My parents have never been there, so it was a wonderful experience for them. I'm so happy that I got to see how much they enjoyed being there. Every 2 hours, the fish feeder would dive into the aquarium, and feed the fish, but not only that, she would put up a sign if there is one requested. Surely, I had asked them to put up "Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad Garcia". They were so thrilled when they saw the sign for them being posted. My lil' one had the most fun watching all the marine life in the aquarium. It was a great night out with my family.

Today, I promised my little guy that we'll be planting some of his seeds that he picked up from City Mill the other day. He's already asking me to go outside, but I've got to get us fed first. CY4 is at his friend's house, they had a sleep over last night (yep, he missed out on our dinner last night), and CY3 is working on this fabulous Saturday. Well, I must get going, and get things done around here, so that we can enjoy the gardening without all the heat. I hope you all have a great day as well.

Oh, before I go, wanted to let you all know that the Prayer Request page has been updated with newly requested prayers. Please join me in praying for these children of God. Please also pray for my friend Mary Bennette who was just diagnosed with blood clot at base of her brain. Pray for healing and comfort. Thank You All, The Lord HEARS our prayers!!!

Christmas Mid-Week Challenge #1

Well, looks like Christmas is right around the corner. So Maria is adding another challenge to the Christmas blog, to help make our cards a little quicker. Therefore, we're to now make "sets" of cards. But, the fun part is Maria says it's open to any type of card sets - LOL.... so not just Christmas, because we may want to give card sets away as Christmas gifts. Which makes a whole lot of sense.

Anyways, I totally forgot about this challenge, but just so happen that I made this set of cards for my receiver of this month's Aloha RAK. Which reminds me - don't forget to send out your Aloha RAK's if you haven't already done so!!! The sign up for August will be posted soon!!

Anyways, here's what I created for my RAK receiver this month. I was inspired by Maria's RAK to me, found here. I just had to create one for the next person that was receiving a RAK from ME!! Not quite the same, but she at least she gave me the idea of making use of it. =0)

I used digtal graphics from Nancy Kubo designs, my scallop circle nesties, prisma flowers and All Natural Accents leaves!! I also used plastic dew drops - which added a nice touch to it. The monogram stamp is from Hero Arts. I used my 1-3/8" circle punch, and my scallop circle punch as well.

For the inside left - I created a pocket so that the envies don't fall out and stamped some firefly images on the envies. The challenge for this month's Aloha RAK was to create a set of note cards for your receiver. So that's just what I did, and I hope she likes them!!!

One More Owl Card....

Hello All,

Happy Aloha Friday & Happy May Day to all my local Hawaii sistahs around the world!!!! May Day is Lei Day in Hawaii... I'm heading into town later, and going to see all the lovely sistahs (and braddah's too!) wearing their aloha leis... but I no moa one for me?!! LOL... das ok... it'll be very pretty. Hopefully I'll get to stop by the King Kamehameha statue, and see it draped in leis.... another hope is to get a photo of it. Wish me luck....

Here is another Owl created card for all of you. I was so happy to see that you all loved the previous owl card I created. Both were created using Nancy Kubo's Lil Owl Graphics. Here's what I used: CB Swiss folder, Spellbinder Circle & Circle Scallop Nesties, Hero Arts Blings, Prisma Flowers, SU! card stock and DS paper, and white acrylic paint for the dots.

Oh, and thank you all that have commented about that box I designed with the Cricut DS program. It was sooo much fun, and I'm glad that I'm able to share it with all of you.

Love Owls.... A Nancy Kubo Design

Happy Aloha Wednesday Lovies....

Real quick post - I have Evie, a Glama Gurl coming over in about 20 mins, I'm going to have a 1-on-1 session with her, on how to create with the Cricut. So, gotta keep this short. So yesterday, I put out a challenge - to used your Two Scoops Rice Designs images. I didn't get any players, so I'm going to extend it for a week. =0) And, no need to create as much as you can, just create 1 creation and post your link here - because I found it hard myself to create more than 1 project. LOL.... oh but, I was able to create 2 more TSRD cards, just didn't have the time to upload. So I figure I wait til' the next Tuesday's TSRD day, and I'll post it then. =0)


So here is my creation for today. I created it using these Lil' Owl Graphics from Nancy Kubo, which I purchased from Little Dreamer Designs. Oh boy... Nancy has some NEW images up, so I'm going to go shopping!!! LOL... loving them all, Nancy!! Keep them coming girl!!! The images on here were actually placed together... as the image of the owl on the branch was 1 image, then I added the brown owl. Such a sweet loving card for an anniversary or wedding. This particular image pack is on sale, right now!!! For only $2.45. You can use your word program to retrieve these images, you don't need to have Photo Shop or any other program out there that you think you might need. All card stock and paper were in my scrap bin... so I'm slowly trying to use them up before using new paper that I keep buying..... what's new?!?!

Ok, I've got this "1 laundry load - or more" goal going here, so I have to get on the ball, and end this post. =0) Evie is going to be here soon!!! Yippee!!!!
