Mojo Monday Sketch & Jess' College Fund Challenge

It's Sunday.  I'm counting down the days til' we will be on our way to the mainland to do a college tour for my oldest son.  2 more days!!  Excited and thrilled that we are making a family vacation out of it as well.  My hubs haven't been on a vacation in the LONGEST of times...  he is looking forward to this time away from work, and away from the business of life, and just spending time with me n' his boys.  We are looking forward to this special well-deserved time alone as well.  We gonna be heading to Seattle and then to So. Cal.  Gonna get a chance to take the boys to check out some places that we've never checked out before.  I think the last time we've been off this rock as a family was back when the lil' guy was 4 or 5... it's been awhile.  :)  Praising the Lord for His provisions, and allowing this trip to happen.  Praying for well-rested and enjoyable days together.  Because we all know how vacations can turn in to stressful planning days, instead, right??  We just wanna cruise, and take our time, and go wherever the Lord allows us to go.  Our main goal though is to check out the colleges, and it's surroundings, so that we will get an idea of what is around our son's school and the areas.  We are blessed to be able to stay with family friends, and our cousin in So. Cal.  It'll be so much fun... and yet, I know the days are gonna go boom, boom, BOOM!!!!  So quickly!!  Lord, please allow us to slow down and smell the roses, every day and just take in everything with a quiet blessing from YOU!!!  Thank U, and in all these things I ask in your Son's holy and mighty name, AMEN!!!!!

So on to my project... I followed this sketch from Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #338:

I thought this sketch looked challenging and when I tried it, I had a lot of fun creating, using this sketch.  The other challenge that I'm submitting to is Jess' College Fund Challenge, which is to use a bling with with image.  I am using their image, which was colored with Copic Sketch Markers.  Here is my project:

I put my sentiment on the inside bottom of the card.  Thought the sentiment went well with the image of the girl holding her warm drink... yumm!!!  Sentiment is from Hero Arts.

So that is that. I thank you for coming by and blessing me with your visit. I can't stay long. Must prepare house for departure.  Must make our packing list. Must get the boys up and get ready for church!  Have a Blessed Sunday, ya'll!!!

Blessings ~

Another one for Mojo Monday's Sketch Contest

Hey Gang!! Well, I wasn't able to post this on Saturday. Yesterday was so busy, yet so much fun. We didn't have as much peeps as we anticipated, because work and illness played a factor for those that couldn't come. But with the ladies that did come, ahhhh... what a refreshing and fun-filled day!! A long one too.... but well worth it!! I will post projects that we created on another day. Today I am posting my project that I made for the Mojo Monday Challenge #185, which I just realized that they are having a contest for this challenge. Yay!! How fun!! Anyways, the sketch is the one shown above, and here is my take on it.

I love this sketch. I will probably use it again. Love all the layers that it has, and the other elements of how it accentuates the main image. I also went with an Easter Theme, because I'm also submitting this project for The Pink Elephant TPE97 Challenge, which is "Easter".

Well, this upcoming week is going to be crazy busy for me. I have a favorite lil' gal coming to town and going to hang out with me n' my family. My sister, Nash is heading this way!! Yay!!! She's making her annual stop into town to visit her clan here, and we'll probably go do things that we don't normally do. So keep us in your prayers, and please pray that everything goes smoothly. I can't wait!! It'll be so much fun.

The image and sentiment that I used is a Sweet n' Sassy digital stamp. The die cut border on the bottom is from Martha Stewart Elegant Cricut Cartridge. Ribbon is Stampin' Up! I colored my image with Copic Sketch Markers.

I also submitted my project to the following challenges:
Thanks for stopping by. I pray that you have a blessed day in the Lord. I pray that you are a blessing to others around you, and those that you don't even know. Know that when you are feeling in the dumps, and when you think that no one is listening, know that the Lord Jesus knows exactly what you are going through. That He Loves You, and all you need is to come to HIM for relief of all that craziness. Call Out to HIM!!!

Have a blessed day!!!
Hugs n' Aloha,
Jen

Ali's Card Creation for Mojo Monday Challege Week 185

Good Morning Gang!!! I'm late with my project today, but Ali is on time with hers, so I'm posting her's now. We have some friends coming over to craft today, so I'm getting ready for that. I will be posting my project later. But in the meantime, check out what Ali created. We are following the Mojo Monday sketch of the week.

Didn't Ali do a fabulous job?? I haven't played with any TGF images this year. I don't know why, but I have a bunch of stamps that are un-inked and plenty of digi images that I just have been hoarding all these months. So hopefully I will be able to create with those babies soon. They are so fun to color and to use our copics with. The image that Ali used on her card is so darling. Reminds me of my daughter, oh wait, I don't have a daughter... LOL!! Ok, reminds me of when I was a kid, and DIDN'T have stuffed animals to hug. I know I had a favorite pillow though. Does that count? To me, it sure was much better than a stuffed animal. The only stuffed animals I had back then was those things you win from Carnival games, from E.K. Fernandez, back in the day. Hahahahhaa... those things were HARD!!! How is that nice to hug? Anyways, off of my high horse and "drama" (as 1 mysterious reader would comment)... I'm just saying, my pillow was nicer to hug than any stuffed animals that I had.

Well, I bettah tidy up before the ladies arrive. And make some fruit salad for everyone to grind. I hope you have a blessed day in whatever you do!! Do not hesitate to call out HIS name if you are in a bind, and do NOT hesitate to call out HIS name when you are NOT in a bind. He loves to hear you whisper a little "Thank You, Jesus" every now n' then.

Love to you all and thanks for peeking. I'll be back with my creation later tonight.

Hugs,
Jen n' Ali
