So, last week Wednesday, I went into surgery. It was a small surgery, but nonetheless, having to go under is still kinda scary for me. As I spent time with the Lord, he gave me this scripture:
"PEACE I leave with you; my peace I give you, I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid". ~John 14:27~
What an amazing reminder and I meditated on that all day, throughout my day, I even created some Project Life cards, using Robin Sampson's digital kit, and had these cards printed up so that I could put them all over my house, in my planner and calendar, etc...
The neat thing is that the next day, the Lord used my brother in Christ, to send me the exact same verse. I was crying, because I never thought I heard the Lord's voice so clearly, and what comforting words. Matt had texted me the same scripture the next morning, and I immediately asked him if he was on FB and saw my post. And he said "NO, I haven't seen it". So I KNOW that the Lord placed that scripture upon Matt's heart to share with me, that HE is here with me, walking every bit of the way with me. GOD is GOOD!!!
Here are pics of the PL cards I made with the scripture on them.. this was kinda neat, I was trying to print the cards on photo paper, but twice it came out on regular paper. No doubt that the Lord really wanted me to KNOW this scripture n' not only know it, but LIVE it!!!
I then cut out one of the printed out cards, and adhered it to my calendar/planner of which I use as a journaling planner. This is a monthly/weekly calendar that I purchased from WalMart, and everyday, I just write a little bit about my day and how it went.
A further view of the entire planner - sized 8-1/2 x 11
Another one of the print outs, I laminated it, adhered a strip of magnet to the back, and the stuck it to my fridge!
Awesome place to remind me of God's peace that surpasses, ALL understanding!
Another print out, I simply adhered it to the wall behind my computer, so that I can look up and just see the scripture right then and there. I used Washi Tape to adhere to the wall.
I also put one in my bible. Adhered it with washi tape, where I am still able to flip the card and write in the column. I've seen so many other people's creativity and how they bible journal, and I have decided that I'm just gonna go with what I like to do, and run with it. I am not a great drawer, but I love working with digitals and even rubber stamps... if I can incorporate it somehow with my bible journaling, then I'm gonna go for it!! :)
Thanks for stopping by and sharing in this journey with me. I have more to share in another post.
Aloha,
Jen
So glad your surgery went ok! Great bible verse! Love how you've decorated, is that even the appropriate word for verses???, using this verse?
ReplyDeleteIt is always refreshing to read how the Lord is helping in a person's walk in life - You are so on that God's hand is in it when another person has the same verse to share - love your Journaling idea - TFS - have a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteI am glad your surgery was small and you're healing. That is awesome to have a scripture to read and help you cope with issues. God is here for us and we have to trust him. I love reading scriptures and having them around.
