Hey Gang!!! Sorry I haven't been posting regularly this week. My girlriend, Ali n' I got together last week, and I was about to create a birthday card, when I found that I was looking in 1 oo many folders for a birthday image and sentiment that I could use. I had already stored all my stamps in binders, and thought that it was the most convenient way for me, until I decided to categorize the stamps. I already had them categorized in sections of "Animals", "Sentiments", "Humans"... but I wanted to go even deeper. So that I did.
I got them all out of the binders, and reorganized the whole thing. I completely got rid of the binders, and cut off about 1/4" of the panel boards, so that they could fit nicely into a sheet protector. I was then able to write the category of stamps on the side of the sheet protector, and then store them in a basket that I purchased from WalMart. I was able to fill 2 baskets with all my stamps, and I still have some wood mounted ones that I need to unmount, and then will store them another way. I am excited that I was able to cut my storage space down even more than it was before. I also got rid of some of the stamps that I've never used, or don't look like I'll ever be using. I haven't decided on what to do with them, just yet. I've got them all in a basket, and have to think about if I'll be selling them, or just going to give them away.
Any suggestions??
Have a blessed n' sa-weet Aloha Friday!!
Hugs... Jen
Stuffs About Today:
WOWZA! Great job Jen! I don't think I have the oomph to do it. lol! But then again, I don't have many mounted stamps any more. :) Woohoo for you!
ReplyDeleteyou can donate un-wanted stamps to me haha. That is a good idea tho on the stamps. Once my collection starts growing more I am going to have to use that idea too if you dont mind.
ReplyDeletei take unwanted stamps you go do a grab bag of them to those who want them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I love this idea! I too store my stamps in binders and find it to be taking way too much space than I thought! I may have to try your method or figure something that'll work with my space.
ReplyDeleteDo a giveaway or sell your unwanted stamps. As for your girl here in SD, I'll take a few ;) Hope you guys are doing well, miss ya!!!
Wow!!!! x Leigh x
ReplyDeleteI was thinking I needed to re-organize my stamps too! and Ive got a bunch of craft stuff Im gonna either donate or giveaway. Or you could sell yours too, Im sure lots of people would be interested! Have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteSell the stamps-I might buy some! I don't have the guts to unwood mine. I have lots on cling and some not on cling yet but I know my woodies are worth more if I ever sell them, especially companies no longer in business, so I leave them alone. I want hubby to build me shelving for my house stamps. But someday I will let them go, probably when I need the money for health care.
ReplyDeleteawesome idea! so tempting! I have so many SU wood mounts that take up OODLES of space, but I cant unmount them...too scared! So did u break up sets when you did this? that is my only fear if I try this..let me know if you can. I'd sell what you dont want on ebay, but let me know cuz I might like to see your tossaways! luv your blog! xo cher

Wow, great job reorganizing! I love when I can condense, feels good doesn't it? I'll definitely have to come back to this storage method if I acquire nearly as much stamps as you have. You can help by donating your unwanted stamps to me ;)

ReplyDeleteGreat job! I hope to be doing something similar in August. We are building an "apartment" for my eldest in the basement and when it's done, hopefully in August, I will have a computer/scrap room. That means I finally get to organize all my stuff!

Wow Jen! You sure have lots of stamps. You did an awesome job in organizing them all. What a great idea to cut the panels down and store them in pocket protectors and then put them in a basket. They should be much easier to locate now. Happy stamping! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWOW you wanna come organize mine too?! LOL
